Harniss Contracting based in Wellingborough are actively looking to employ two new Appretnices to train as Heating and Ventilation Engineer. The employment base will be at Harniss Contracting head office in Wellingborough and the place of work will include various sites as required.
The training will be delivered through day release via EAS Mechanical Limited based in Northampton. The duration of the Training is 24 months with an anticipated start date of September 2021.
Job overview -
You will provide support to the Engineering Team to help conclude various contract requirements. You will learn what it takes to become a successful installer whist gaining the knowledge from site to compliment that theory knowledge gained at College.
What is the qualification?
This is a City and Guilds Level 2 6288 BSE Installer standard available to anyone aged 16 and over. The Training will be a mix of day release delivery based at EAS Mechanical Limited and the development of hands on skills and system knowledge in the workplace. This standard is designed to offer a challenging and ambitious programme of academic study and work-based skills progression.
What training and support will you get?
You will be working towards the Level 2 City and Guilds Building Services Engineering installer qualification – also known as traditional Heating and Ventilation Engineer. The team at Harniss Contracting will help progress you with your day to day duties and will support anyway they can.
You will be required to attend training at college via EAS Mechanical Limited based in Northampton for a maximum of 76 weeks spread over two years. Harniss Contracting will cover course fees and travel. Harniss Contracting expect the applicant to be hard working, trustworthy and keen to learn new skills.

We would like someone with a Level 3 Plumbing qualification to join our team to deliver to Apprentices who attend EAS. Groups of 12, you will be ask to teach H&S, Cold Water, Hot Water, Heating, Sanitation and guttering and for level 3 all the design aspects as well. If you already teach Plumbing at this level and are looking for a change please contact us but we could also look at taking someone on who wants to come of the tools with a passion of passing on their skills to the next generation. If you also have Gas quals this would be great but not essential.
