A recent project from Ben in our team at ST Electrics – installing a 7kW myenergi Zappi EV charger for a customer in Wotton.

To ensure a safe and dedicated supply, we also fitted a separate consumer unit for the charger.

This setup provides:
Reliable and efficient home charging
Added electrical protection
Future-ready EV infrastructure

It’s great to see more households making the switch to electric and investing in sustainable transport.

Fantastic work from Karl in our team, completing a new lighting and dado socket installation across two office spaces in Corby, as well as upgrading high bay lighting in the warehouse.

The project included:
Modern LED panel lighting for bright, even illumination
New dado trunking with multiple socket outlets for flexible office use
High bay LED upgrades in the warehouse for improved energy efficiency and visibility

A great example of how the right lighting and power distribution can transform both office and industrial spaces.

We work with many customers on the electrical installations in new kitchens. Here, we’ve installed a recessed LED strip neatly integrated into the lantern feature.

It's these kinds of finishes that help to create a standout, feature kitchen space.

Sometimes it’s the small touches that make the biggest difference!

We were called to a customer's property in Wellingborough to resolve issues following roofing work that had disrupted an existing solar system. The roofer had removed the panels to replace the felt and then reinstalled them incorrectly, leading to safety concerns and client dissatisfaction.

We were contracted to step in and do the job properly. Our team removed the panels and rails, corrected the hook placements, refitted the cover plate, reinstated the rails, and carefully cable-tied the DC wiring to ensure it was secure and safe. Once everything was in place, we reinstalled the panels and tested the system to confirm performance.

To protect the system going forward, we also installed bird prevention measures around all panels. The result was a system restored to safe, fully operational condition — and one very relieved homeowner.

One of our most rewarding recent projects was completed in Overstone, where we installed a powerful solar and battery storage system designed to meet the client’s current and future energy needs. The system includes 16 solar panels, a 9.5kW battery, and a 5kW inverter — all installed with bird protection to preserve long-term system health.

We’ve also future-proofed this setup by preparing it for a solar-compatible EV charger, which will be installed soon. In just five days since the system was switched on, it has already generated over 112kWh of power — a fantastic early result.

With energy prices rising and more homeowners seeking greener alternatives, this is a great example of how ST Electrics can design and deliver high-performance renewable energy systems built for the long term.

Proud to present the 44-panel solar installation and battery storage solution for Rushton Village Hall. The largest solar and battery installation we’ve delivered!

As a key community building, the hall wanted to cut its running costs and future proof against rising energy prices, while reducing its carbon footprint.

The installation included:

44 solar panels with optimisers, spread across four roof areas
A 20kW inverter paired with 20kW of battery storage
Full AC and DC surge protection
New switch fuses and isolators for safety and maintenance
A dedicated generation meter and additional smoke alarm systems

All equipment was neatly housed in a purpose-built storage area off the main hall, ensuring both safety and accessibility.

This project demonstrates how renewable energy can benefit not just homeowners and businesses, but also community organisations. Rushton Village Hall now benefits from lower bills, greener energy, and a future-ready system built to last.

This homeowner in Newport Pagnell asked us to service their existing Solar PV system to ensure everything was performing as expected. Our team conducted a full inspection and system check, including string testing to verify that each panel was generating efficiently.

To enhance performance, we also arranged for a professional solar panel clean via one of our trusted subcontractors. Clean panels allow for optimal light absorption and better output — especially during spring and summer months when solar yield is at its highest.

Regular servicing like this not only protects your investment but helps you get the most from your solar setup.

We’ve been working with a commercial client in Luton for some time now, providing regular support to keep their renewable systems running efficiently. Every quarter, we carry out a full test and inspection of the EV charging points used by their staff. With these chargers in heavy daily use, it’s vital that issues are caught early. We also handle routine repairs to ensure constant availability.

In addition, we complete an annual test and inspection of their Solar PV system to ensure it remains in peak condition. Our testing process checks output, identifies any potential faults, and includes immediate on-site repairs if required.

This type of proactive maintenance is essential for commercial setups, where downtime can be costly and inconvenient. We’re proud to support this site with regular, reliable servicing!

We often get called in to repair previous Solar installations that have gone wrong or haven't stood the test of time.

One of the biggest problems with poorly installed Solar panels is a lack of bird protection. We were called to a customer's property in Kingsthorpe due to damage to solar panels and cables because the initial installation failed to put adequate protections in place.

To help restore solar functionality, we:

- Removed panels and scaffolded for full access
- Repaired or bypassed MC4 plugs/sockets
- Installed bird protection around the array to prevent future damage

Unfortunately, we see this quite a lot with sub-standard solar PV installs. If you've had a previous solar installation, please check the installers provided adequate bird protection. If there isn't adequate bird protection please get in contact - remedy is better than cure!

Proud to share a recent project in Kettering – a full battery storage upgrade.

Our client wanted a future-proof energy storage system with backup capabilities, installed near the mains position.

We supplied and fitted a GivEnergy 6kW all-in-one battery and inverter system, complete with 13.5kW of battery storage and a gateway for full backup functionality in the future. This setup gives the customer flexibility to add to their system, if needed.

- Installed next to mains
- Smoke alarm with 10-year battery backup
- TT earth stake for islanding mode
- Removal of old system
- Certified and commissioned (NIC EIC)

We'd be happy to provide you with a breakdown on costs for this type of system if you are interested in a similar installation.
