It's becoming a bit of a tradition for me to have a clear out of stock before con season so that I don't have to carry as much around.
But that doesn't sound as good as SPRING SALE!

This year I'm going big. (The biggest reduction is around £50)

40% off old designs. There's nothing wrong with them. I just don't make them like that anymore.
It could be the shape, size of the holes, what material they're lined with. They're great. Just not up to date.

40% off seconds. Not much that I make gets to a saleable state if I'm not happy with it. But sometimes things pick up a little damage, or I make a mistake. These have their faults detailed in the description, but whatever it is will in no way affect the function of the product.

So go now!

Run, don't walk!
Grab a bargain while they're there!

I'm doing more shows than ever this year, returning to some old favourites as well as trying some new events.

This is just the confirmed events for the first half of the year (Yes I know it's March already)

Which show are you most excited for?

It never hurts to be reminded where the wood I use comes from.

This ash has been suffering from dieback and was damaged in the recent high winds (the last few pictures show the effects of the dieback in various stages)
The safe thing to do was fell it in a controlled manner. Rather than waiting for it to rot and risk it falling on a horse or member of the public.

Unfortunately I'm not set up to process my own timber, but some of it is coming home with me to air dry and ultimately become turning blanks.
Expect some Ash rolling bowls in a couple of years!

Happy New Year!

Are we happy to be in 2025?

Hope you all had the holiday season you wanted. Be that Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanaza or any other celebration you cared to engage with.

I'm back at work now. Admin tasks mostly, but also playing with a new toy which is going to open up some new creative avenues for me.
A laser engraver will allow me to offer more in the way of personalisation and designs.
But don't worry, this will not affect my ethos of high quality handmade products.
I'm not going to stick a Hellfire Club logo on everything I make and call it day. So if you're a real human artist who fancies working with me on some designs or selling me some licenses drop me a DM.

This caption went off on a tangent. So I'm gonna stop now.

See you all soon!

The workshop is closed! (Probably till after Christmas)

HOWEVER! If you're in the UK there is still time to get some handmade wooden goodies for your game.
Orders placed before 9pm tomorrow (Tuesday 17th December) should still reach their destination before the big day.
The shop will stay open over Christmas, but orders won't be processed until I'm back.

Thank you all so much for your support in making this Four Scores biggest year. You'd better believe there are plans to go even bigger in 2025!

Come find me at Dragonmeet next Saturday!
I'll be in the lower trade hall making clickety clack sounds at passers-by.
(I'll also be rolling dice through my towers)

Quick update. (Sorry it's not the new stock update. That's soon. I promise)
I received the above message from Square who I used to build and host my website.
Essentially they're telling me that you guys don't want to use PayPal anymore, so are removing the option.

From tomorrow, you won't be able to use PayPal to purchase from my webstore.

Now, I'm not sure I'm happy about this. I use PayPal all the time (it's just so ruddy convenient even with the fees)

If using PayPal is important to my customers I will look to migrate my site to a new provider.
So sound off in the poll and the comments

Did you know, all of the packaging I use is completely recyclable (and sometimes recycled)

From the cardboard box and tissue paper to any stickers and the tape used too!

Not to mention that the void fill is actually made from wood. So is completely biodegrade, unless you have any other use for it.

Every box is then hand stamped using an eco-rubber stamp from .co.uk

Today saw me cutting dowels to length for 15 dice towers.
Cherry, Walnut, Oak and Ash.

I'm yet to find a way of doing this that's as quick, accurate and safe as a bench hook and gents saw.

Tomorrow I'm going to need to make some from scratch as I want a set made from purpleheart. I'll try to remember to get footage of how I do that if you're at all interested

Because every dice tower I make ends up being slightly different, I have to mark out every single one independently to avoid possible errors. (I learned that the hard way)
It takes time. But I reckon it's worth it.

This ash tower will be in the next shop drop by the way

Putting finish on the inside of dice towers is an important step.
Sure it won't ever be seen, but that doesn't mean it deserves any less of my attention. Especially when this is the part that's going to have your lovely dice rattling against it.
I use a hard curing furniture oil to ensure they're up to the job.

You're also getting a sneaky peak of one of my Four Score custom colours here, you lucky devils you.

Ive been a bit quiet on the grid of late. I was away for a week for my birthday and various other doings have been transpiring.
But I hope to be a bit more active going forward.

You probably saw me shouting a lot about over the last few weeks. Well hopefully you saw episode three and that little old me was the sponsor for it!
Truly an honour, so a huge thanks to them for the opportunity.

The online shop is a little sparse at the moment, but have no fear. More stock is in the works and I will be shouting about it as it goes live.
The discount code from Wyrdwood will be live until the end of the year, so there's still time to save on your Christmas shopping too!

Anyway. Back to work.
Talk soon x
