FROM REMEDIATION TO COMPLETION | THE CUBE, BOLTON

A look back at one of BJ Roofing & Cladding’s major residential projects — The Cube, Bolton.

Delivered between June 2020 and August 2021, the project involved the restoration of Blocks A and B, progressing wall by wall and level by level over a 14-month programme.

The façade build-up incorporated A2 Hardie fibre cement panels, installed onto an A1 aluminium bracketry system, alongside A1 non-combustible insulation, cavity barriers and A1 weather board secured into the SFS system.

Careful attention was given to compliance, manufacturer specifications and installation throughout the works, with our team delivering the system across the development.

Following completion, the prohibition notice was lifted, allowing the building to welcome students once again.

A challenging project — and one we’re proud to have been part of.

Treehouse Hotel Manchester — REVISITED. 🌿

It’s always good to return to a completed project and see our work as part of the finished space.

For this project at Treehouse in Manchester, the BJRC team installed Trespa® Pura NFC façade cladding, supplied by VIVALDA , using approximately five different colours to create the distinctive finish across the development.

A throwback to the BJRC team in action.

Taken back in 2019 during the installation of a double-skin roofing system — and apparently there was still time for a photo from the top. 😂

Behind the finished roof is the part of the project most people never see: the supporting structure, careful setting out and installation required to build the complete roofing system.

It’s been really special for us to play a part in a project right on our doorstep. 💙

With our office just around the corner, we’ve watched the new Northwich Market take shape and we’re all looking forward to finally seeing the doors open.

Hafan yr Afon | Corten Steel Transformation

One of the most distinctive materials we’ve had the opportunity to work with.

At Hafan yr Afon in Newtown, our team installed Original Corten weathering steel panels, creating a façade designed to evolve naturally over time.

Installed onto aluminium bracketry with the fixings concealed between the panels, the system maintains clean lines while allowing the Corten to take centre stage.

The photographs show that transformation — from the newly installed steel, through the early stages of oxidation, to the rich weathered patina of the completed building.

Unlike a conventional coated finish, Corten is designed to change. Exposure to the elements develops its characteristic protective patina, giving every panel its own variation in tone and character.

A brilliant project to look back on and an architectural finish that only gets more distinctive with time.

135 bespoke privacy screens. One precisely executed installation.

A closer look at the architectural detailing delivered to the rear of this residential complex.

Our team installed 135 bespoke privacy screens, each fabricated from 3mm pressed aluminium with precision perforations, alongside Anthracite Grey horizontal feature flashings.

Beyond providing privacy to the residential areas, the repeated perforated design becomes an architectural feature in its own right — creating a consistent, considered finish across the elevation.

A great example of where function, fabrication and façade design come together.

A look back at our work at St Barnabas & St Paul’s Primary School, where the contrasting façade creates a distinctive and contemporary exterior.

The combination of dark façade panels, crisp detailing and vibrant green accents gives the building a strong architectural identity. Careful installation across each elevation ensures the finished system is as considered in its ex*****on as it is in its appearance.

Projects like this demonstrate how material, colour and precise installation can completely shape the character of a building.

The look of natural timber. The performance of Rockpanel.

A closer look at the entrance detailing on this completed project, where our team installed 8mm Rockpanel Woods Teak Effect panels across the entrance and soffit areas.

The Woods finish provides the warmth and grain variation associated with natural timber, while offering a durable, low-maintenance alternative suited to modern façade design.

The result is a clean architectural finish that brings warmth and contrast to the entrance of the building.
