A Christmas message from Gary the Gardener

As 2025 draws to a close, we'd like to thank all of our customers for your continued business and for the many positive reviews we've received on Bark. Your support and encouragement gives us all the motivation we need to continue try to improve our offering to you.

For the 2026/27 gardening season, two more experienced, reliable and hard working gardeners will be joining our team. I will tell you more just before the season starts but I already know that they will work well with our existing gardeners, Ryan, Ollie and Martyn.

Having more gardeners in the team will allow us to take on many more new customers, domestic and commercial, throughout Cheshire. We have the vans and equipment ready for our planned expansion and, the way in which we operate, allows our gardeners to concentrate on what they are very good at, and love doing most......THE GARDENING!

UPDATE FROM GARY the GARDENER

Hi everyone

Since my last post outlining the career opportunities we will have for the 2026/2027 gardening season, I've been asked to clarify our offering. In the post I gave a lot of job specific skill requirements we will be looking for.

I'm not expecting our next team members to have all of these skills at outset, but I will be expecting them to develop them fairly quickly with the 'on the job' training and coaching they will receive.

So, here is our offering:

We can offer full time gardening positions, typically 5 days & 30-35 hours per week, self employed

All work will be provided. All job related admin will be taken care of

You will be able to simply go out and do the gardening and keep our valued customers' gardens looking great.

As far as pay is concerned, £20 - £27 per hour depending on experience, paid every Friday

Full, clean driving license is essential

This is a very rewarding business to be involved in. We have a growing team of skilled gardeners looking after an expanding customer base.

I'm now beginning to plan for our 2026/27 gardening season both in terms of 'gardeners' and 'customer base'. Currently, as you may know from previous posts, we have a team of 5 experienced gardeners, including myself. Our customers live within a 12-15 mile radius of Northwich.

I'm now going to take a step back from the 'hands on' gardening work and concentrate all of my efforts on growing and managing our business. The daily gardening work will be left to gardeners who I can trust 100% to keep providing our customers with the service they are used to.

Next year, Martin, who has worked with me for many years, will be leaving our team to concentrate full time on his own business....MARTINS MOWING. He's worked hard building his customer base and I would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone who is looking for a good, reliable gardener.

I will be looking to add to our team going forward. We are almost working to maximum capacity again so I would be interested in finding one or two more gardeners over the coming months. I have one addition to the team already lined up for next season but, if you, or someone you know, might be interested, CVs should be sent me using [email protected]

In terms of locations for new customers, currently, we are particularly interested in Holmes Chapel, Goostrey, Cranage, Allostock and surrounding areas
