Busy this week installing structural steel to transform this kitchen and dining room into one larger, open-plan living space.

The steelwork was installed in accordance with the structural engineer's design and, following inspection and approval by Building Control, the project was handed back to the client ready for plastering and decorating.

Another project underway this week.

This single-storey extension is off to a great start. The client wanted to be hands-on with the build, so they're taking care of the concrete oversite themselves. As part of the engineer's specification, we've also installed the required wind post.

For now, we've built up to DPC level. We'll be back in a few weeks to complete the brickwork and install a 6-metre steel beam before the project continues.

It's always great to work alongside clients who want to be involved in creating their new space.

Ive recently been working on a project for a friend in old catton.

The brickwork on this extension is now complete and ready for the carpenters to take over. I'll return to finish the remaining brickwork once the roof has been cut on.

In the meantime, it's on to the next project!

Back with another returning customer today, this time to put in a concrete base for their new summer house.

9.5 tonnes through my little mixer... safe to say we earned our wages today! 💪

While I was there, I also rembered to take a photo of the wall I built for them earlier this year. Always nice to go back and see previous work.

After 10 years of working as a self-employed bricklayer and general builder, I’m proud to announce that I have officially established my limited company.

Another orangery base completed

This one involved digging and pouring the foundations, concreting the oversite, and all the brick and blockwork ready for the conservatory installers.

I remembered to take photos throughout the job... but forgot the most important one — the finished build! 😂📸

One day I'll get the hang of this social media thing. Until then, here's a few progress pictures!
