Something different… How about some noodle soup?

I was approached by a language school who were moving site and needed their new premises networking. New racking, 3 x 24 port Ethernet switches and 72 cables later their internal network was sorted.

Unfortunately their internet provider let them down, not to worry, I also lent them a 5G modem to get them started.

This time a quick rewire in the bedroom to get sockets and reading lights either side of the bed and a socket for the shelf. New scaffold plank shelves, (not floating this time as it was a stud wall) and some wood checkerboard panelling behind the headboard.

I can’t take any credit for finding the lights as they were supplied by the client, but look very impressive.

Classic Bespoke Flatpacks this time… a client wanted a radiator covering, but a standard radiator cover wouldn’t fit. After a quick trim and some homemade brackets, voila a custom removable cover.

I seem to be getting a reputation for panelling now… once painted it can look very effective, especially with the addition of a dado rail.

A client sent me a picture of some panelling they saw online and fancied replicating (1st picture). As it was something different I embraced the challenge with some spectacular results, (paintwork was nothing to do with me). Some good before and afters here.

Always a treat to work with some real wood, this time reclaimed scaffold planks, jet washed, sanded and turned into some fantastic rustic floating shelves.

So one of a few bigger jobs I’ve been doing over the past few months… boarding out a loft ready for storage, stilts underneath the boards to maintain the integrity of the insulation. Lovely job if I do say so myself!

I’ve been inspired by some of the recent work I’ve been doing with reclaimed wood in other peoples houses. On a rare day off I’ve managed to finally put up our reclaimed mantelpiece... and it looks pretty good if I do say so myself! Just got to get some reclaimed scaffold planks for the shelves now.

Some before and after shots from today’s project. Around 6 weeks ago I was asked to produce some chunky shelves from reclaimed wood. After a lot of searching and planning I finally installed them today. A very nice treat to work with reclaimed wood.

So what do you do with cut down sheets of mdf? Make a feature wall of course! So some fantastic shots of a feature wall being made and painted. This project took the best part of 3 days for the feature wall and to paint the whole room but totally worth it in the end. A simple idea that looks really amazing, especially after painting in anthracite. Just the furniture to make now.

So as useful as a little table saw is, I was needing a more sizeable bench saw for cutting down sheet wood into strips... with a couple of trestles and a sheet of mdf with a hole cut in voila, one bench saw perfect for cutting mdf sheets into 40mm strips for a project (but more about that in a separate post!). A big thank you to my very patient wife for helping to prime all the strips on valentines morning... a most romantic start to the day!
