Great to see our latest installation completed at Hopkins Blind and Shutter Fittings LTD.

We installed a 77.4kW solar system, with the client successfully securing a 50% government grant towards the project.

Even without the grant, the system would deliver a payback period of just over 5 years, while helping to future-proof the business for the next 25+ years against rising energy costs.

Another step forward in helping UK businesses take control of their energy spend and move towards a more sustainable future. 🌱⚡

⚡ Thinking about solar or battery storage in the next year or two? ⚡

There are some important changes coming that could affect future pricing.

China has confirmed that from 1 April 2026, export tax rebates on solar panels will be removed entirely. For battery storage systems, the rebate will reduce from 9 percent to 6 percent, before being removed completely from 1 January 2027.

As China is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of solar panels and batteries, these changes are expected to put upward pressure on prices across the industry, including here in the UK.

At Generate Solar EV, we are already planning ahead by securing materials early and helping customers understand timelines and grid approvals, which can take up to six weeks.

If you are considering solar panels, battery storage or EV charging, now could be a good time to start the conversation.

Generate Solar EV is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Gas Engineer with Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) expertise to supervise, manage, and grow our heat pump division.

This is a key leadership role for someone who wants responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to shape an important side of a fast-growing renewable energy business.

📍 Location: Based at Headstocks Industrial Park, Watnall, Nottingham.

🔧 The Role
• Installation, supervision, and oversight of Air Source Heat Pump projects
• Lead and develop this side of the business
• Ensure high standards of compliance, safety, and workmanship
• Work closely with management to support business growth

✅ What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Gas Engineer
• Proven Air Source Heat Pump experience
• Confident supervising jobs and running projects
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

🥇Qualificatons required
A Level 3 trade qualification
A recognised heat pump qualification
MCS-level competence
F-Gas
Strong technical and supervisory experience
