A longggg overdue setup, nut & saddle replacement for this beauty of an epiphone from Jaque Seviour

If you don't know Jaque he is one of Nottingham's longest standing open mic hosts. (Nearly 7 years in fact!) This guitar has been through the wars of not only its house guitar role but the playing of many gigs/weddings at the weekends.

Since the last setup done by yours truly it has seen a couple of years wear & tear resulting in the nut slots & saddle being sawn down by the strings. After a full fretboard deep clean I fitted a brand new bone nut & saddle followed by a full setup to get the action nice and low but with no more pesky buzzing!

Now it has returned to the world to be played by many an up and comer around Nottingham or a wedding venue that looks from Downtown Abbey!

P.S - He managed to break a string within the first two days, It was an A string...

Some more acoustic love!!

This is one of two that the wonderful talent that is brought in to us after having previously been set up... Let's say not quite to the specifications he was after.

We took in this gorgeous AJ-45ME for the full works to get it playing great again. Starting with lowering the action to a far more playable height (2mm - 1.5mm), At the same time we leveled the bottom of the saddle which had previously been shaved at an angle resulting in a loss of hi end from the guitar's piezo!
Then we went on to buff the frets to a hi shine and remove any imperfections, Followed by the full body having a clean and polish.

This is a call for anyone who has had work done on their guitar to remember that if you aren't happy with the end result, Take it back!

Happy new year!

It's been a BIT quiet on the guitar front with the run up to Christmas..

Now's the perfect time to get yours in for a service to have it gig ready for the next year! Or if you've just been gifted that one you had your eye on but it just doesn't play quite right, drop me a message and we will have it playing sweet in no time!

Anyway here's one I did for just before crimbo...

Another lil Martin mini on the bench that unfortunately had it's pickup die 🕊️ Spud WAS going it hang it on the wall never to be played again but that seemed a shame, We decided a cheap fix alternative in the form of a Fishman Isys+
(Before you say it they're actually pretty decent for the price, I was shocked at the sound for the price).

Paired up with a standard setup to get the playability better and a fretboard refresh she is now sounding better than ever and will no longer be condemned to a wall guitar for its life!

Tele-Tuesdays never looked so good!!

Had this beautiful limited edition Thinline Telecaster dropped in for a setup by local musician

We hit it with a comprehensive setup to get it playing smoothly all around the fretboard & buffed her out to make that stunning Daphne blue colour stand out, Now it's ready to be displayed on the many stages Joey plays with his band 'The Bushido Code' 💙

First up we have one of three from .music

Louis brought in his Martin LX1 for some TLC and to get it gig ready. We gave it a full acoustic setup and did some reshaping work to the saddle after complaints of constant broken strings from this area.

After sorting that issue we lowered the action to a much more forgiving height & slapped on a pair of phosphor bronze 10's! Polished, Buffednand ready for the next gig.

Well well well... It's been a while.

After taking a big break from guitar work due to the gigging side of my life really taking over and getting a tad hectic I've decided to take a chill pill and come back to the hobby I love!

A nice Introduction back was this (Lovely?) AliExpress number from

George came to me with this guitar in the hopes it could sound and play better than what you would expect from a guitar of this brand.. It's main issue was the plastic tuners that wouldn't hold key even if you glued them fixed! After swapping out the tuners for some locking Guyker machine heads & a much needed setup this guitar is on its way to a much happier life of playability.

Unfortunately the issues we run into with these kinds of guitars are ultimately down to the build quality. If we could achieve a perfect instrument then a neck reset would have been needed to have it up to 100% but for the cost of the guitar she sounds sweet for now!

So yes this means I am back taking on guitar work if anyone out there is after some upgrades, Maintenance or TLC for their instruments!

Had this lovely Vintage Les Paul owned by Matt Turner on the bench this week!

After being untouched for over 5 years this bad boy had its fair share of grime to say the least.. We went about replacing the old broken Kluson style tuners for a fresh set of Wilkinson Deluxe's with white heads & swapped out the faulty jack input. After that a deep overall clean, fretboard cleaned/conditioned & Fret Polish. Then with strings fitted and a setup she was playing like brand new!! Let's hope Matt thinks the same 🤞

Now that's an old boy!! 👴❤️

This beautiful 70's Ibanez UK bass came to us from the top recording guru Ben Marshall Production for some general maintenance & upgrades! The Seymour Duncan pickups fitted were slammed to the body so we gave it a proper installation with adjustable spring loaders that now allows the pickup to be moved closer to the strings. We won't tell you who slammed them in the first place.. 🤫

Then Edd in the electrical department installed new pots all round, Grounded the wires to be rid of a horrible buzz and added a cheeky little tone switch to flip between a moody low rumble or a bright slap in the face! Then with a quick fret polish and setup it was on its way home to be used on the next hot record Ben will be producing (Let's hope a The Fine Art Society track🤞).

We love a Pelham Blue sparkle 😍

This guitar from Harley Benton was once owned by Ben Marshall Production
(It still technically is)

Initially it was setup to be an absolute shredmaster by its previous owner but in the process they had over-bowed the neck, created dead spots in the higher frets & did some pretty sloppy soldering..
Myles took it to the bench and after a few tweaks and a setup it plays like butter!
So much so he has since stolen it from Mr Marshall 😂

For an inexpensive guitar this beauty feels and sounds like its Gibson LPC copy and for a fraction of the cost!
We would love to say it's all in the setup but that's not always true.. Tho aot does help!
A massive shout to for making these guitars & there's only 250 made 👀

Sunburst or Natural??

Fortunate to have this photo op of my own EJ-200 sunburst on the wall alongside Jaque Seviour natural EJ-200EC! Also who doesn't love a moustache bridge 😍

Jacque brought in his EJ for a quick action adjustment & Clean up, Within 24 hours we had it lowered to a comfortable 2mm which made a big improvement in its playability!
