Royal Engineers Works Groups are "The Army's Infrastructure Engineers" is the specialist unit of 12 Group RE providing infrastructure consultancy, engineering design and project management to the British Armed Forces.
12 Group is a hybrid unit with Reservists working alongside Regular soldiers in specialist fields.
12 Group has a number of specialist roles, including: utilities, fuels, water, air
fields, rail and ports infrastructure as well as general engineering and geological support. We look to recruit individuals who have, or are working towards civilian qualifications in engineering or construction related subjects including civil, mechanical, chemical, construction and electrical engineers, construction project managers, engineering technicians, draughtsmen, surveyors, quantity surveyors, estimators, construction site managers and logisticians.
12 Group provides the opportunity for engineering professionals to build unique engineering experience around their civilian jobs. Reservists in 12 Group will have the opportunity to work with a range of highly qualified and experienced engineers on a broad range of tasks in a military environment. The Group has had a permanent presence on operations for the past 20 years in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as providing support to civil emergency and humanitarian aid.
