New Addition to the TRD Fleet

Our brand new Volvo Trucks FH 540hp 120T 6x4 Tractor Unit landed on Friday and it's an absolute beast.

This latest investment strengthens our heavy haul capability and supports the continued growth of our demolition and transport operations.

We've got full video footage on the way, but for now, here's a first look at our newest arrival received by Martin Cross.

Soft Strip and Enabling Works Underway at Nationwide Retailer in Hull

Total Reclaims Demolition is currently carrying out soft-strip and enabling works at a retailer's unit in Hull, supporting them in a nationwide £25m store revamp programme - a scheme already delivering a reported 14% uplift in sales across refurbished sites.

Our works on site include:

- Full soft strip of the former retail unit
- Façade removal
- Mezzanine floor removal
- Canopy removal to facilitate welfare set-up
- Segregation and removal of all arising materials using licensed waste containers
- Responsible disposal at licensed waste facilities, in line with TRD's sustainability commitments

These enabling works form part of the retailer's accelerated modernisation strategy, which aims to refresh stores across the UK with improved layouts, updated branding, and a more contemporary customer experience.

By preparing the Hull site for its next phase, TRD is helping support the wider transformation programme, ensuring the building is stripped back safely and ready for redevelopment.

EMPAL League Cup Winners! 🏆🔥n

What a game. What a team.

Bilborough TRD FC are officially the EMPAL League Cup winners after a nail biting, knockout final against Shire Athletic on Sunday 10th May.

It finished 1-1 after a hard fought 90 minutes, and the lads dug deep to take it all the way, holding their nerve and winning on penalties to bring the cup home.

A massive shoutout to the entire team for this fantastic achievement, and to our friendly rivals Shire Athletic for such a competitive game.

Preserving Nottingham's Heritage While Preparing It for the Future

We're pleased to confirm that we are carrying out specialist works at Nottingham Guildhall, one of the city's most iconic Grade II listed buildings. Built in 1887 - 1888 in a striking French Renaissance Revival style, the Guildhall has served many roles over the decades, including the city's courts, police station, and even fire station. It has stood vacant since 2010, and now begins a new chapter.

TRD have been appointed to deliver a package of complex works across the site, including:

• Asbestos removal and soft strip throughout all areas within the site boundary
• Demolition of the Guildhall Extension Building
• Removal of 2 x link bridge structures
• Demolition of the former Fire Brigade Drill Tower
• Full segregation of arising materials and removal to a licensed waste recycling facility

Working on a building with this level of history and architectural significance requires precision and care, and we're delighted to play a part in preparing the Guildhall for its next phase.

Welcoming the Next Generation of TRD Talent

We're delighted to share that TRD’s Luka and Benji have officially started their Demolition Operative Apprenticeship with us.

This apprenticeship gives them hands on experience on site while working toward a nationally recognised qualification covering safe working practices, demolition techniques, equipment use, and the fundamentals of construction and the built environment. It's a brilliant route into the trade and both lads have already shown the attitude and work ethic that make a real difference on site.

Investing in young talent is a huge part of building the future of our workforce, and we're really pleased to support Luka and Benji as they develop their skills with the TRD team.

Bilborough TRD F.C. Are Through to the EMPAL Cup Final!

We're very excited to share that Bilborough TRD FC have made it to the EMPAL Cup Final this Sunday 10th May.

The lads have worked incredibly hard this season, and reaching the final is a huge achievement. We really couldn't be prouder to support them as official sponsors, and several of our employees play on the squad too.

They'll be facing Shire Athletic, and let's be honest. This won't be a walk in the park. Shire are the current holders of the cup and are the current league leaders, so it's set to be a proper battle on the pitch, exactly the kind of final you want.

Clearing the Way for a New Modern Training Facility at West Denton Fire Station

We have recently completed the first phase of a project at West Denton Fire Station to remove the existing fire training tower, making space for a brand-new, modern training facility.

Our Volvo high reach (a.k.a. "the beast") handled the tower with ease, taking it down in a controlled sequence and down to slab level, with the surrounding area fully protected throughout to ensure a clean, efficient operation.

All materials were segregated by type and loaded into suitable containers for removal to a licensed recycling facility, keeping the site tidy and maintaining high environmental standards.

This was a brill project to be involved in, and we're super excited to see the groundwork being laid for an improved training tower for the crews who'll use it next.

A Big Night at the 2026 Demmy Awards

A huge well done to Martin Cross, who walked away with Highly Commended in the Technical Director of the Year category at this year's Demolition Hub Demmy Awards.

A brilliant recognition of the leadership, technical expertise and day-to-day graft Martin brings to TRD, and a proud moment for the whole team.

And we have to say…the TRD crew absolutely turned up in style. Everyone looked incredible, with Stella and Alison especially stealing the show. 🤩

Our New Mesda Crusher in Action

Great to see our new Mesda J10H earning its keep on site, captured perfectly from above. The crusher is already proving its worth in a recycling application, producing a clean 6F2 material while averaging just 11 litres of fuel per hour.

It’s efficient, reliable and built for the kind of work we do every day. Exactly what we want from new kit on a busy demolition and recycling operation.
