And thats a wrap for this one.

Annette is a lovely lady from Gedling who we met a couple of months ago when we did another job next door to her.

On this job we was only supposed to extend the patio and put a railway sleeper in to retain but me being me 🫣 i actually ended up - taking all the old paving up and relaying it- levelling the garden and making it more flat rather than a slope. The Aco drains the site put in wasn’t even connected to a drain so they was also pointless. I didn’t want to do what I was supposed to be there for because why would you add on to crap and make things worse? The customer wouldn’t have known but I knew when I started taking it up that everything needed to be started again so I did just that and I didn’t even charge more to do it either. I did the majority of it off my own back to give myself peace of mind! All I changed for extra was the turfing part but I also kept that extra charge low for her.

Here we used 600x600 slabs that we reused.

💥 Another repeat customer 💥

Angela and her husband have now used Hornby’s twice in a few months

Firstly we did some of the back garden and then the front garden

We did a lovely kandla grey sandstone path- artificial grass and some lovely tegula blocked edges. We was going to use sleepers and this would have been easier but… i was having a little think and I wanted to change what we was doing! It made things harder for me but it benefited the clients in the long run so we changed to a nice block instead. So I asked the clients they agreed and we cracked on. 😀

The clients also asked for a couple of extras and we did manage to get this done for them 👌🏼

Thanks for the chip cobs, sausage rolls and tea.coffee and for being the perfect clients to have a laugh with.

💥 sandstone paving 💥

Another lovely little job in Ilkeston

This again is for a repeat Client! I think it’s been 3 maybe 4 times working on this garden in stages over the last few years and I think now it’s finally done 🥹 hopefully the customers will move house and we can start a fresh on the new garden 😆😆

We really do thank every client that uses our services over and over again and over many years it really is nice to see people come back even if it’s a couple of years down the line. I have many clients that I won’t see for 2-3-4 years and they pop up to get more work done 😀

Hi everyone I hope your all having a lovely weekend

Here we have another little job in Wollaton for a repeat client

This client wanted to add on to the existing paving so we did just that.

Some people say why is there a colour difference? I say because you’re putting new to old! It’s quite simple.

I get it so often with customers asking why things are a different colour and come on guys you’re an adult I shouldn’t need to explain these things to anyone.

If you want the same colour buy everything new it’s quite easy. If you don’t then expect a colour difference.

Luckily this client understood that before we even started the job but I have it so many times through the year where I feel like I’m talking to a 3 year old explaining myself with little things like colour change. It’s bound to happen if your adding on to something, you’ll never get the same colour unless the whole thing is new 😆

Now sometimes I don’t know where to start! This client had a quote over 5 months ago. Unfortunately a deposit was taken on the job and the job was started by another company but has you can see it didn’t go well right from the start. This client was going to and from with the landscaper for months trying to get the work completed but the contractor stopped turning up, ran with money.

This company couldn’t even lay a patio right! Never mind landscape a whole garden.

Now I’m far from the best and I’m far from the worst but I respect people! I respect my company. This is to feed my family and it’s why I get up at 6am daily.

Please please please do not give deposits to people. Not cash in deposit anyway and especially if you don’t know the people personally. I do deposits differently! I do take them but not in the way you think. Most clients to me are recommendations so taking a deposit in the way i take them i think is fine and most people trust me because people they know have used my services before.

Anyway moving on- I got a call and I went out to this customer and he explained to me what had happened. I quoted he accepted and we started. I ripped the whole garden out and started a fresh and in 6 days we completed it and the pictures show the rest 🙏
