💙 Shining a Spotlight on Mental Health in Construction 💙
Following on from Men's Health Week, we'd like to take the opportunity to focus specifically on mental health across the construction, housebuilding, and infrastructure sectors.
While these industries are built on resilience, teamwork, and determination, we also recognise that many workers can face pressures both on and off site. That's why it's so important that mental health remains part of the conversation, not just during awareness campaigns, but throughout the year.
We're proud to work with many clients who actively champion wellbeing and create opportunities for open and honest discussions around mental health.
A great example is the recent initiative by Persimmon Homes, where teams came together across sites during Mental Health Awareness Week for wellbeing-focused breakfast mornings. These sessions provided a valuable space for colleagues to discuss challenges, support one another, and reinforce the message that nobody should struggle alone.
At Net Temps, supporting mental health is something we are passionate about too: Last month, members of our team took part in a fundraising hike in support of the The Lighthouse Charity, helping to raise awareness and funds for men's mental health within our industry.
The work carried out by Lighthouse is invaluable, providing emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families. Through initiatives such as the 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and Light Talks, their free and confidential support service, workers can access help whenever they need it, whether they're facing challenges with mental health, finances, family life, or wellbeing.
We believe that supporting mental wellbeing is just as important as promoting physical safety on site. By encouraging conversations, raising awareness, and supporting organisations such as Lighthouse, we can all play a part in creating a stronger, healthier, and more supportive industry.
