If you're local to Ruddington or passing through, you can't help but to have noticed a big bear on the phone box by the church.

A local village charity - The Mustard Seed Project (Uganda) - has recently renovated the telephone box in the centre of Ruddington. They have created the "Mustard Seed Box" to enable sharing/swapping of seeds and seedlings. Haven't they done a fantastic job!

I was delighted to help by using old pallets to make the boxes that sit inside the phone box. I hope they'll serve the community of Ruddington for many years.

I've recently been asked to make ten sets of weaving tools for a backstrap loom. If, like me, you didn't know what a backstrap loom was, there is a photo of one of the sets being used (photo courtesy of Yi Crafts London). One set consists of three beams, a sword and two dowels.

They have been fun to make, all with hand tools, and will be used in workshops to teach weaving.

Occasionally I find that shoes that have been left outside by the back door overnight are spread around the garden in the morning. My imagination kicks into overtime about who could be doing it, but the chief suspect is a fox using them as toys similar to a dog playing.

To prevent this I've made some pegs to hang the shoes on. High enough (I hope) to thwart the foxes in their night time games.

Well, we'll see in the morning!

Spices arranged neatly in the spice rack I made for a client recently.
Standard racks don't always allow for the number and range in size of jars nor fit the space in the kitchen.
