We had the pleasure of taking Max to his Year 11 Prom in style! ๐Ÿšœ โœจ

Safe to say he turned a few heads when we pulled up! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
It was also great to meet a school leaver who already knows what he wants to do with his future. That kind of drive and ambition is great to see,

we wish him every success in achieving his goals. ๐Ÿ‘

Hope you had an amazing night, Max, and made memories to last a lifetime. All the best for the future! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿพ

The words from our director Liam, this weekends antics with the Long Eaton Carnival

I say it every yearโ€ฆ Iโ€™m not doing it again! ๐Ÿคฃ But deep down, I absolutely love it.

Seeing the community come out to support every float, the thousands of people waving, the smiles and the cheers, from children right through to the elderly โ€“ everyone getting involved. The effort that goes into it is incredible, and I honestly think this year has been one of the best yet.

For the first time, I was up front helping to run the parade from start to finish and I want to say a huge thank you to Jean, sheโ€™s literally a wingwoman, ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿป

It was super hot, little bit red, nearly 35,000 steps later, and after a very long dayโ€ฆ it was all worth it! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Lots of people were shouting me, waving and saying hello throughout the day. If I missed you, I wasnโ€™t being rude! I was trying to concentrate, listening to the radios, keeping it smooth

Another huge thank you to my staff, who gave up their time to help yesterday, hours of prep, and to every group who put so much effort into their floats โ€“ they all looked amazing.

๐Ÿ† Another year of winning for the Maple fleet! ๐Ÿ

Iโ€™d also like to say a massive thank you to Ben at J Swinglers for the last-minute help. On Friday at 3pm we were let down, and after ringing around worrying, one call at 6pm and we had four lorries sorted. Absolute lifesaver!

Special thanks also go to:

๐Ÿ‘ Rich Barratt โ€“ for the trailers
๐Ÿ‘ Mitch at M&S Farms โ€“ for a dolly
๐Ÿ‘ Gary at Mr Logs โ€“ for the second dolly
๐Ÿ‘ Carl at Total Plant Hire โ€“ for the generators
๐Ÿ‘ Donald at Wards recyclingโ€“ for supplying the bins
๐Ÿ‘ Mick at Derwent Waste for the supply of a tractor unit

And one huge thank you to my Dad. Heโ€™s helped prep, clean, repair, and when we were short on help, he simply threw a hi-vis on and jumped in with the Tm teams

Most importantly, thank you to everyone involved. We are all volunteers, and there are countless hours of planning, organising and fundraising behind the scenes to make this happen.

Another successful year done and dusted.

๐ŸŒณโšก๏ธ Been a little quiet on the socials lately! Lots going on behind the scenes and plenty happening, but with the day-to-day running of the business taking priorityโ€ฆ we thought weโ€™d better start posting again!

Throwback to 28th May, just before 5:45am, when we received a call requesting an emergency team on Ilkeston Road, Stanton.

With it being summer, nobody was on standby, so our MD was first on scene โ€” arriving in shorts and flip-flops to assess the situation! ๐Ÿ˜‚

What looked like one uprooted willow quickly turned into three, with a real domino effect and one large tree starting to heave close to the 11kV power lines.

Plan madeโ€ฆ except half the fleet seemed to have disappeared:

๐Ÿšœ Valtra and whole-tree chipper in for service.
๐Ÿชต Bandit 20XP with a cracked manifold.
๐Ÿš› MA72 PLE out hauling chip.
๐Ÿšš Unimog collecting one of the 14-tonners.

Perfect timing! ๐Ÿ˜‚

One of our Vosch grapple saws safely dismantled the dangerous willow, while the rest of the team went old school with manpower and the trusty 9-inch GreenMech.

By the end of the job:

โœ… 5 van loads of chip removed.
โœ… A low loader full of heavy, snotty willow timber.
โœ… Plenty of machine movements and head scratching.
โœ… Top teamwork from Aran, Sam, Wayne, Bryn, Ash, Joel and Jake. ๐Ÿ‘

The closure caused chaos through Sandiacre, with traffic backing up to Junction 25 and lorries stacked up to Bostocks Lane. Once half the road was reopened, we then found ourselves escorting more than 50 lorries through the closure โ€” not something they teach you on your arb tickets! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Big thanks to Derbyshire County Council Highways for getting closures in place quickly, and to Derbyshire Police for helping deal with a few grumpy lorry drivers and some cyclists who were less than impressed! ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿ˜‚

๐ŸŒณ Mother Nature keeps us on our toes.

Road fully reopened by 1:15pm.

One of those jobs where you pull machines and staff together from all over at short noticeโ€ฆ but thatโ€™s what makes a great team.

Dream team. ๐Ÿ‘Š

Sunday service, Maple style ๐Ÿ

While most are on their second brewโ€ฆ weโ€™ve already booked the road closure โ€” Rob Heywood โ„ข๏ธ doing his thing ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Set in the finest Derbyshire countryside (postcard stuff, honestly)

Serving up a light Sunday trim โ€” ash dieback, overhanging the highways ๐ŸŒณโœ‚๏ธ

Blue skies, sunโ€™s outโ€ฆ trees coming down โ€” probably upsetting the locals- but ash die back unfortunately leaves ash trees dangerously unsafe and thereโ€™s only one option

Stay classy, stay safeโ€ฆ

Have a cracking Sunday ๐Ÿ
