New hardwood bespoke sills for our client in Staffordshire. We made these deeper than the existing sills so that the drip beneath the front edge takes water further away from the window. This will help prevent the same problem from reoccurring. Over time water was tracking back under the old sills causing them to rot. These have been dowelled into the existing oak frame using European oak dowels for longevity. Just good quality timber, glue and epoxy resin for back filling. No metal and no gaps πŸ‘Œ

Why restore? Choosing to restore and renovate timber windows offers several advantages over complete replacement. It preserves the original charm and architectural character, promotes sustainability by reducing waste and utilizing a renewable resource, and often proves to be a more cost-effective option. By opting for restoration, you can maintain the beauty and functionality of timber windows while minimizing the impact on the environment and your budget πŸ™Œ πŸ’°

A beautiful bay window restoration from an 1750 blacksmith's house in Derbyshire. Upgraded with double glazed window units, new hardwood sills and upright sections. We insisted that the client kept all of the original iron mongery as it was still in such good condition.
