🌧️ The rain has finally arrived! 🌱

After what feels like an incredibly long, hot and drought-ridden summer, we’ve finally had some substantial rainfall over the last week or so — and what a difference it’s making!

We’re already seeing a real change in the colour and growth of lawns, and with the ground finally getting some much-needed moisture, we expect lawns to really start flourishing over the next few weeks. 🌿

With the growth picking up, Des and Neil have got all your grass-cutting needs covered! From large areas requiring our ride-on mowers to smaller domestic lawns, whether you’re looking for a regular service or just a one-off cut, we’re here to help.

Another recent project completed 🌿

This one involved creating a long run of planters using solid oak sleepers, which certainly came with a few challenges along the way!

All of the groundwork was completed by hand, working on a fairly steep slope with some very hard ground conditions, before finishing the planters with around 6 tonnes of topsoil.

Really pleased with how they’ve turned out, and we’re looking forward to seeing them planted up by the customer and watching everything flourish over the coming months. 🌱

Another slightly different project for us, but a really enjoyable one to complete.

🎾 New balls, please 🎾

Not our usual type of work, but we’ve been working on the clearing of these two tennis courts, which had been left untouched for a long time.

Years of neglect had resulted in a huge build-up of leaves, w**ds, brambles, trees and other overgrown vegetation, leaving the courts almost completely swallowed up.

Before starting the clearance, we sprayed to kill off the foliage, including the deep-rooted w**ds and brambles. This allowed us to remove the vegetation without causing any further disruption to the court surface.

The initial clearance is now complete, and we’re really pleased with the transformation! What a difference — it’s great to see the tennis courts starting to reappear. 🎾

What was once an area filled with unwanted plants is now a vibrant, healthy lawn.

Our process included:
• Removing and killing off existing growth
• Rotavating the ground
• Levelling the area
• Reseeding
• Applying a loam top dressing
• Adding fertiliser to encourage strong establishment

The end result is a thick, lush green lawn that looks fantastic and blends perfectly with the rest of the garden.

This patio was covered by a couple of years’ worth of fallen leaves, creating the perfect conditions for w**ds to take hold between the paving joints.

Around a month ago, we cleared away the leaf build-up and treated all w**ds with a dual-action herbicide. Rather than simply removing the visible growth, we took the time to ensure the w**ds were killed right down to the roots.

Fast forward, and we’ve completed the final stage with a thorough pressure wash, revealing a much cleaner and fresher-looking patio.

It’s always great working with customers who understand that good results come from following the proper process. Taking shortcuts might make things look tidy for a few weeks, but treating the root cause helps prevent w**ds returning and gives a much longer-lasting result.

We also made sure all the drains were left clean and clear once the work was completed. Jobs like this can create plenty of debris, so we always take the time to leave everything tidy and functioning properly — leaving it better than we found it.

The next step is for a family member to arrange re-pointing of the patio joints, which will really finish the area off and have it looking fantastic for the summer ☀️

A couple of months ago, we completely scarified this lawn back to bare bones to give it a fresh start.

As you can see from the before photos, the lawn was thin, uneven, and unhealthy, with several undulations making it difficult for the customer to mow and maintain properly.

To correct this, we added soil to level out the problem areas before reseeding and top dressing the entire lawn. With the right aftercare in place, the results really do speak for themselves 🌱

Now the lawn is looking thick, healthy, level, and ready to enjoy all summer long.

Questions we’re often asked…“Is my lawn too small to bother with?”“We’ve struggled with it for years…”

Our answer? Definitely not — and this lawn is proof of that 🌱

We believe every lawn, no matter the size or condition, has the potential to be brought back to life and made the absolute most of with the right treatment and care.

This small but troublesome area of lawn was heavily compacted, full of moss and w**ds, and had really lost its health and appearance over time. But with the right treatment and a bit of patience, the transformation has been incredible.

We completely took it back to basics — scarifying to remove moss and thatch, aerating to relieve compaction and improve drainage, then overseeding and top-dressing to encourage thick, healthy new growth.

To finish, we applied fertiliser for essential nutrients along with a selective w**d treatment to help keep unwanted w**ds under control.

Now, what was once a tired and struggling patch of grass has been transformed into a thick, healthy lawn that looks absolutely brilliant 🌿

We’re really pleased with the end result on this one — proof that even smaller lawns that have struggled for years can be brought back to life with the right care and attention.

It’s not always about raw power 💦

One of the biggest advantages of our pressure washing setup is its adaptability. For this job, we started by turning the pressure right down to carefully clean the pointing—protecting it from damage and saving the customer from unnecessary repair costs.

Once that was done, we increased the pressure to tackle the rest of the surface, delivering a thorough, high-quality clean.

Old vs new… what a difference a year makes 🌱

Over the past 12 months, we’ve invested heavily in upgrading our lawn renovation equipment – and the results this spring have been incredible.

Our brand new scarifier is pulling out more thatch and moss than ever before, leaving lawns cleaner, healthier, and ready to thrive .We’ve also added our own aerator to the fleet, offering both hollow tine and solid tine aeration – and the difference we’re seeing already is a huge step up.

On top of that, our new drop spreader allows us to apply top dressing more evenly and efficiently, and we’ve sourced a high-quality loam supplier that’s making a real impact on levelling, seed germination, and overall lawn health.

We’ve also added a few extra bits to the kit – including a new blower and a spiker for targeted seeding work – helping us get even better results across every job.

We’re in a fantastic place right now – and this has been one of our best starts to the season yet.
