Northwest Region Lift Engineers Vacancies

The Role
• We are currently recruiting for a number of lift engineers for callout with small repairs
• We are also recruiting for a lift repair and modernisation engineer or team.
• Engineers would be working in the Northwest regions within our field operations team.
• Depending on the role applied for, you will travel to sites to repair or modernise existing lift installations from various manufactures across the Northwest
• This is an excellent opportunity for experienced lift repair and modernisation engineers who are looking to develop their career.
• Inclusion on the out of hours call attendance rota.

Your Skills
• You will be fully conversant with safe working and repairing lifts from various manufacturers’
• You must be an experienced lift engineer having in-depth knowledge of various brands
• Prior experience with a comprehensive knowledge of repairs or modernisation is essential

What We Offer
• A basic salary and paid overtime provide high earnings potential.
• Depending on experience for lift engineering roles £18 to £25 per hour basic rate
• Should the modernisation lead engineer come as a team, his assistant rate would be £14 - £17
• 33 days annual leave (25 days + Public Holidays) in a full year
• Paid overtime at premium rates of pay

We are also interested in hearing from repair & modernisation lift engineers who have an existing lift engineer’s assistant and would consider both as a joint team.

Engineers must have a full and valid driving licence and authorised to work in the UK.

Working with a large social housing provider in the North West, Total Lift Care specialists are preparing an asset and condition review of all passenger lifts on this clients portfolio.

This survey and technical report will provide an in-depth view of the lifts current position as well as compliance to modern safety standards including EN81-80 and EN81-58.

Reacting to a situation is sometimes the measure of a great company.

Two weeks ago a valued client, a provider of social housing, contacted our 24 hours support team with what on the face of it was a run of the mill request.

It was reported “the lift is not operating correctly can you send an engineer”

Our operations team dispatched the designated local engineer for this client, which during the call attendance a major issue was identified within the hydraulic power unit.

This important component for all hydraulic lifts had identified a failed internal component.

We quickly ascertained that the valve assembly which was over 35 years was obsolete and beyond repair.

This presented an issue which required some radical thinking.

Our dilemma was to replace the whole power unit with a lead time measured in weeks leaving residents with no lift.

After detailed technical discussions with our specialist supply partners it was decided to undertake a replacement of the valve block head and retain the motor and impeller unit.

This technical solution allowed us to return the lift to service within three working days following technical adjustments and load testing.

Our client and residents were delighted with the solution.
