Millimetres matter.

When it comes to setting out, precision is everything. That’s why we always take the time to double-check every measurement and ensure the laser is set up correctly before moving forward.

As you can see, James is doing exactly that here, carefully marking out the layout of the changing rooms. This stage is crucial, as it allows us to visualise the space and make sure everything is positioned exactly as planned.

By getting the layout right from the start, we can ensure the finished changing rooms meet all of the client’s requirements, providing the functionality, accessibility, and space needed for the end users.

Attention to detail at this stage helps avoid issues later on and ensures the project is delivered exactly as intended.

Today we touched base with Alex on our gym refurbishment project to review progress on the screed breakout works and discuss the next phase of replacement.

The team has been working hard to carefully remove the existing screed, allowing us to fully assess the condition of the substrate beneath and ensure the best possible foundation for the new floor installation. During our visit, we also met with a flooring manufacturer’s representative on site to assess the current conditions and provide expert guidance on the most suitable approach for the flooring installation once the new screed is in place. Their input will help ensure the chosen system delivers the performance, durability, and finish required for a busy gym environment.

It was also a great opportunity to see first-hand the effort that Bob and the wider team have put in behind the scenes to make this stage of the project happen. From planning and coordination through to the physical breakout works, their commitment and attention to detail have been instrumental in keeping the project moving forward safely and efficiently.

We discussed the replacement strategy, programme of works, and the sequence required to ensure the new screed and flooring installation are completed to the highest standard. With the breakout progressing well and a clear plan now in place for the next stages, we’re looking forward to seeing the refurbishment continue to take shape.

Great work from everyone involved so far, and we appreciate the ongoing collaboration between all teams on site.

Nothing gets a team together and boosts morale quite like hearing the words: “The skip’s here!” 🚛

It’s the universal signal for:

🔧 Tools down.
☕ Tea break postponed.
👀 Everyone suddenly becoming a logistics expert.

One minute you’re focused on the job, the next it’s a full-scale chain reaction.

Someone starts throwing timber.
Someone else appears carrying scrap that’s been hidden for six months.
The Skip driver is suddenly the most important person on site.
Three lads are standing around directing traffic like air traffic controllers.
And there’s always that one bloke trying to squeeze “just one more thing” into a skip that’s already defying the laws of physics.

The best part? Materials start flying in from every corner of the site. Nobody knows where half of it came from, but apparently today is the day it all has to go.

For 30 glorious minutes, the actual job stops and the entire workforce unites for one common goal:

Fill that skip to the absolute brim without paying for another one. 😂

Forget team-building exercises and corporate away days. If you want to see real teamwork, order a skip delivery.

It’s not all sitting in the office, drinking coffee and looking pretty!

There’s no “I” in team, and today was a perfect example of that. We all headed to site to help the lads get it cleared and get the rubbish shifted.

I’ve always believed you should never ask the boys to do a job you wouldn’t do yourself. When the team needs a hand, you roll your sleeves up, grab a shovel and get stuck in.

The best teams are the ones where everyone mucks in, no matter their job title. It’s easy to give instructions from the office, but getting out on site and grafting alongside the lads is what earns respect.

The site’s clear, the rubbish’s gone, and everyone pulled together to get the job done. That’s what teamwork looks like

With the World Cup kicking off today, we thought it was only right to get everyone involved and show our support for all the teams taking part! ⚽🏆

To add a bit of extra excitement around the office, we’ve launched our very own World Cup sweepstake. It’s all a bit of fun, but there’s also some healthy competition involved, with prizes up for grabs:

🥇 1st Place – £100
🥈 2nd Place – £50
🥉 3rd Place – £30

The sweepstake is a great way to bring the team together, get everyone talking, and add a little extra interest to every match throughout the tournament. Whether you’ve drawn one of the favourites or a complete underdog, anything can happen in football!

We’re already looking forward to seeing the office group chat spring into life over the coming weeks, especially when the shock results start rolling in and people’s teams begin getting knocked out. There will no doubt be plenty of banter, celebrations, and a few heartbreaks along the way!

Events like this are a great reminder that building a strong company culture isn’t always about work. Sometimes it’s about bringing people together, having a laugh, and creating moments that everyone can enjoy.

Who do you think will be lifting the trophy this year? 🏆

Let us know how your company is getting involved in the World Cup and whether you’ve got any sweepstakes, competitions, or office traditions running alongside the tournament. We’d love to hear about them! ⚽🙌

Back at Tranquil HQ to catch up with Alex and see what’s been going on behind the scenes! 👀

The office has been a little quieter than usual lately, but for good reason… and we’ve got a little something exciting to tell everyone that will be revealed in the next couple of weeks. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it! 👀✨

While we were there, Alex took us to what is now our closest job site to the office. It’s great to see the progress being made, with the roof now completed and looking fantastic in all its glory.

Even more exciting, the groundwork has officially started on the extension, marking the next phase of the project. It’s always rewarding to see these developments taking shape and watch a project move from plans on paper to reality.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates from both HQ and the site very soon… and stay tuned for that announcement! 👀🚀

As the site clearance continues and rubbish is being removed, it marks another important milestone in the project’s progress. With the waste materials being cleared away, we can now begin the next phase of works as new materials start arriving on site.

The delivery of the new sand and cement for the upcoming screed installation has now been completed, allowing us to begin transporting and preparing these materials for use. This is a key step forward as we move closer to creating the new screed surface and advancing the project schedule.

With increased deliveries and material movement around the site, our team remains fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety. Working in an area that is accessible to the public means that public safety remains one of our top priorities at all times. Careful planning, clear segregation of work areas, and constant awareness from our workforce help ensure that both site personnel and members of the public remain safe throughout these operations.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while these works are carried out and look forward to sharing further progress updates as the project continues to take shape.

🚧 Project Update – Gouldwells 🚧

Take a walk around our Gouldwells project with Alex as we reach another major milestone in the transformation of this property.

We are pleased to announce that the strip-out phase is now complete. All existing electrical systems, plumbing, kitchen fittings, dining room features, and lounge elements have been carefully removed, giving us a clean canvas to begin the next exciting stage of the build.

With the demolition and preparation works behind us, our team has moved straight into the first-fix electrical installation. This critical phase is progressing well, with new wiring routes being installed and infrastructure taking shape throughout the property. It is always exciting to see a project move from removal and preparation into the rebuilding stage, where the vision for the finished home really starts to come together.

At the same time, we are preparing for the upcoming structural steel installation. The steelwork will play a key role in supporting the new layout and creating the open, functional spaces that form part of the project’s design. All necessary preparations are underway to ensure the installation runs smoothly and keeps the programme on track.

The transformation at Gouldwells is gathering momentum, and every week brings visible progress. A huge thank you goes to all of our trades and contractors who continue to work hard on site to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the build.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move into the next phase and begin to see the structural changes take shape.
