This week Ke-design are pleased to have received planning permission for the replacement of the rundown outbuilding in the grounds of this Grade II listed house, with a residential annexe and storage.
What made this application pretty straight forward was the almost like for like replacement. The main difference is the introduction of brick plinth.
Now onto discharging of the conditions.

Single storey extension, Telford. Building Contractor- Ashden Builds.
A home should bring people together, and this project does exactly that.
This large four-bedroom house had a kitchen that simply wasn't big enough for the way the family wanted to live. Ke-design reimagined the layout by transforming the existing kitchen into a practical utility room and designing a contemporary single-storey extension.
By combining the new extension with the existing breakfast room and dining room, we've created a bright, open-plan kitchen, dining and living space that's perfect for everyday family life, entertaining friends, and making lasting memories.

Follow their relocation from France, Mr & Mrs Smith were downsizing to a bungalow in Oswestry. While they found one in their ideal location it needed a bit of work doing to it, including replacing the conservatory with an extension.
Our clients appreciated our local knowledge, and while it was a small project they appreciated our design approach, not only looking at replacing the conservatory, but how the dwelling could be improved from other aspects.
Mr & Mrs Smith were very pleased with Tom and Rogers Construction.

It doesn't have to be grand to make an impact.
Ke-design added a small rear single storey extension to a Victorian Terrace in Oswestry that has transformed this home with the bifold doors and lantern bringing in lots of natural light to a previously dark and dingy kitchen and dining.
The clients have done a fantastic job fully renovating the rest of the house, and a lovely touch with the chessboard patio.

Hope you enjoyed the sunny Bank Holiday Weekend.
On Friday Craig braved the traffic to enjoy the sunshine and visit Plot 2 at Porth-Y-Waen development before it is handed over to the lucky home owner next week, who took the opportunity to chose their own kitchen and finishes.
This unique speculative 3 plot development just outside Oswestry was designed around the stunning south facing views, and taking in the site gradient with the split levels. Solar, Air Source, storage battery and MVHR make these dwellings energy efficient.

We had an interesting conversation in the pub recently over a pint. A known gentleman said "I can always tell a Ke-design job........ you have a style".
For a moment we thought he was going to say they all look the same!
We've never really thought that we have a style, as every job is unique, and that he was referring to a contemporary look.
But on further discussion, what the gentleman meant was you can tell its a Ke-design job as is well designed and thought about, as he followed it up with "not like those red brick boxes".
So just in case everyone's presumption is that Ke-design only does contemporary, here are some traditional houses we designed for a rural development.

PLANNING ALERT:
Ke-design are pleased to have received PLANNING APPOVAL for a 2 storey side extension, and rear first floor extension, to a former squatters cottage (treated as a Non Designated Heritage Asset).

Now, the observant of you will see images with REFUSED stamped all over. And those who read our posts (and not just look at the pretty pictures) will remember a few months back our post about a 2 storey side extension to a non-descript 1980s dwelling in the countryside getting refused. To those who commented on the quality of the design, we thank you.

So here are the 2 projects, side by side, 1 approved, 1 refused, which we feel is a good example of the inconsistency in planning.
