We may be moving into the warmer months, but if you’ve got one of these - 🕳️ on the outside of your house, you’re probably gonna get one of these - 🐀 !
To stop rodent issues in their tracks you firstly must employ effective control, then must block their climbing paths and seal every above surface entry point.

In mid-June, wasp colonies are expanding rapidly. The queen remains inside laying eggs, while the first generation of worker wasps takes over foraging and expanding the nest. Nests typically look like the one pictured here, reaching the size of a tennis ball or small grapefruit, and a regular flight activity should be visible.

They may look a little bit freaky, but in reality there’s no need to worry about spiders in the UK. There are no deadly or medically significant venomous species living in Britain. Furthermore their tiny fangs generally cannot pe*****te human skin, and they actively avoid humans.
And best of all they catch the actual pest species!
If you find a spider in your home, it’s best to leave it alone, or at most, gently catch and release it outdoors.

As numbers of Wasps colony members exponentially increases throughout June controlling a wasp nest typically becomes necessary when it is located in a high-traffic area near your home or business, posing a direct threat to the safety of children, pets, and individuals with sting allergies.
While aggressive colonies in these locations may warrant control, nests situated far away from buildings can often be left alone. Wasps serve as useful natural pest control by consuming other insect pests and as accidental pollinators.

This short video should give you a good impression of a typical WASP NEST at the beginning of June.
The nest is located in an unfortunate area, limiting access to the outbuildings and presenting a risk.
The primary reasons for removing or treating a wasp nest are to protect you and your family from stings, prevent damage to your home, and to avoid a much larger infestation next year.

Shredded paper is a telltale sign of a potential rodent infestation.
Rodents shred paper primarily to gather soft, warm materials to build or line their nests. By chewing paper into fine, fibrous strips, they create insulated spaces to sleep, breed, and hide from predators.

WASP NESTS are getting bigger, so they’re getting noticed!
In June, wasp nests enter a rapid growth phase as the first generation of worker wasps hatches. The queen remains inside laying eggs while workers focus on expanding the nest and foraging. Nests now average the size of a small orange.

We are currently receiving a lot of calls regarding Bumblebees, but we don’t do bees!
Bumblebees are threatened by habitat loss, climate change, and the use of agricultural pesticides.
The species also departs from the nest after around a month and does not reuse the nest.
If you find a bumblebee colony, the best practice is to leave it alone.

Finding evidence of pests?
It may be time to call in the experts!
A pest is any organism like an insect, rodent or w**d, defined by its harmful or unwanted impact on us, or our environment.
A common impact of a rodent infestation includes property damage: rats and mice may compromise the structural integrity of your buildings, chew through water pipes, wiring and damage soft materials.
