This year we celebrated 16 years in business, ‘Rokwood Fuels’ was established in 2007 with myself aged 18, I had a very small amount of money saved from cutting grass and working in a local pub, so I bought an old Toyota hilux pickup from a backstreet in Ashington, was given a second hand pair of chainsaw trousers that had been outgrown by a wise man of the woods, a chainsaw, fuel can and file that was kindly gifted from my father, a brand new Oregon splitting axe purchased from Robson and Cowan and i set on my way with the ‘he who dares wins’ attitude, there’s been some ups and downs that’s for sure! With the business taking a different turn in 2021 due to ongoing health issue’s, we now concentrate on the import and distribution of creosoted agricultural fencing products as ‘Rokwood Timber’
I have been looking through some old photos, and fondly remembering the delivery vehicles over the years, there’s about 4 more I can’t find pictures off, but you’ll get the idea. Currently now running the hilux and my favourite, the landcruiser which is funnily enough older than the first vehicle I had 16 years ago.
