Don’t think we managed to get before and afters of much of the work put into the old ravensworth farm over the past couple weeks but there was plenty to get at, old porous 🧽 coping stones wrapped in lead, chimney with the giant pot on the first photo was removed and hole slated over, new lead flashings around both chimneys, 6 valleys repointed, new dry ridge to the property but as you can tell by how straight it is, the roof was a weird old shape👀 chimney capped and another half capped, slates replaced, eave felt cut back and trays and comb fillers fitted for 100 metres worth of roof🙃🫣 the list goes on, this job got pretty much everything repaired… nice to see the back of that one👍🏻 we’re free and available again, give us a shout 😃

Bad weather today ☔️ 🌧️ just wanted to write a quick message to make sure you understand your roof. if you’ve got holes in tiles, missing cement in ridges or verge, leaking gutters/downpipes, it’s all negatively impacting your home. All of them can be very dangerous, May seem like a small issue and something that can be pushed back and easily rectified.. and it may well be easily rectified, if it’s corrected asap. Driving Rain means that no matter the angle of what’s broken , it will find its way in. And over time it will slowly rot away everything it comes into contact with, dry rot being a huge concern as it needs significantly less amount of moisture to progress in comparison to wet rot. It will multiply and slowly eat away at the wooden structure that is your roof, left untreated this is a major concern that we have seen time and time again and a quite expensive one at that. But other things that come with leaking roofs and gutters, is the impact it takes in visible places inside the home. guttering for example when left to drip can splash against the walls, causing damp to the exterior of your home and over enough time it forms in damp and mould patches on your interior walls and corners of rooms etc. another example is mould congregating above openings of windows and doors could be the cause of water ingress in your roof causing the eaves felt to collapse and water once again making its way into your home causing nothing but problems. These issues WILL NOT get better, they will get worse, take our advice, check it over, and give us a call if you need us, ITS FREE FOR ADVICE AND QUOTATIONS, always.
