Riverside Road, Botley – EnerPHit Update

Good progress on site as we move into the next stage of this EnerPHit retrofit and extension in Botley, Oxford.

πŸ› οΈ First fix plumbing and heating starts next week, which is a key stage on a project like this.

With EnerPHit, the order everything happens in really matters. Services, airtightness, insulation and finishes all need to be carefully coordinated so each trade can complete their work without affecting what comes next.

βš™οΈ Over the coming weeks, Cotswold Metal Roofing will also be starting the new standing seam metal roof and metal shingle cladding.

Big changes coming to the outside of the house now and plenty happening behind the scenes too.

Another complete refurbishment underway at Abbey Road in Oxford, and it is a pleasure to be working with Christ Church College and Savills once again.

This is a full transformation of a Victorian home, inside and out. Since starting on site in June, the house has been stripped back to brick, new structural openings formed, the kitchen roof re-slated and a full rewire, new plumbing and new heating first fixed throughout.

The walls are now insulated, boarded and being plastered, while out in the garden the groundwork and new drainage are in ahead of a new patio, walls and landscaping works shortly.

Nearly all of it is delivered by our own in-house tradespeople, coordinated day to day by our dedicated management team at our Cumnor office. That is how we keep the whole construction project life cycle stress free for our clients, from strip out to handover.

We have started on site at Boars Hill in Oxford.

This one is a lovely project, a full refurbishment of a characterful brick cottage along with a garage conversion, a single storey rear extension and external works, all sitting in a beautiful spot on the edge of the city.

The first few weeks have been all about opening the building up. The old garage has been carefully stripped out, revealing the original brickwork and that wonderful arched window, ready for its new life as part of the home. Inside the cottage, our carpenters are busy framing out the new stud walls and the layout is already starting to take shape.

There is plenty still to come, from new foundations and drainage for the extension through to a full rewire, new heating and plastering throughout, so keep an eye out for updates as this one progresses.

Older properties like this are what we love working on. The aim is always the same, keep the character, improve everything else.

Planning a refurbishment, conversion or extension of your own? We would love to hear from you.

A few photos from the Lynch Brother Group Summer BBQ 2026 at The Fishes in Botley.

Days like this are a good reminder that a business is ultimately about the people behind it.

As the Group continues to grow, bringing everyone together outside of the usual day-to-day work becomes even more important. Our employees, their families, friends and all those who support the businesses behind the scenes are a huge part of what we are building.

We are proud of the progress we are making across the Lynch Brother Group, but the culture we create along the way matters just as much.

Hard work, loyalty, opportunity, friendship and looking after one another have always been important to us, and we want to make sure those values remain at the heart of the Group as we continue to grow.

A brilliant day with a brilliant group of people.

Growth gives us the opportunity to build bigger businesses. Culture is what makes people want to build them with you.

It is a pleasure to be working with Christ Church College once again on another complete refurbishment, this time on Abbey Road in Oxford.

Working alongside Savills, our aim is a stress free construction project life cycle from start to finish. Our in house tradespeople carry out the work on site, while our dedicated management team in our Cumnor office keeps everything running smoothly, from programme through to handover.

It is a way of working that keeps standards high and communication clear, and it is why clients come back to us project after project.

Progress update from Stratfield Road, Oxford.

The transformation up top is well underway at this loft conversion in Summertown. The old roof has come off completely and a brand new structure has gone up in its place, built around fresh structural steels and a fully reframed roof.

The whole roof is now wrapped in breathable membrane and counter battened, ready for tiling, and the new Velux windows are already flooding the space with natural light. Inside, the stud walls are framed out, the insulated floor deck is down and first fix electrics are underway. The original brickwork and chimneys have been kept, so the finished conversion will sit naturally within this lovely Victorian terrace.

Our carpenters have been on site through the summer sunshine and the drone shots show just how much has changed from above. Next on the list is tiling the new roof and completing the rear dormer, then it is on to insulation and plastering as the space really starts to feel like part of the home.

There is something special about watching a dark, unused attic become a bright and spacious new room. This one is well on its way.

Thinking about a loft conversion or extension of your own? We would love to hear about it.

Final weeks on site at Walton Crescent in Oxford.

We are now driving into the final stages of this project and look forward to handing over on time and on budget.

Strong project management has been at the heart of this job from day one. Our assistant project manager Chloe, operations director John Lynch and on site foreman Kai have coordinated every trade on site so the whole team can work safely and efficiently, week in, week out. Kai, like most of the tradespeople on site, is employed directly by Lynch Brother Group, which means the standards we set are the standards that get delivered.

That way of working pays off across the group too. When our sister company Noble Painting and Decorating arrive on site, they already know how we do things, so the finishing stages run smoothly.

It has been a pleasure working alongside Oxford University Press and Savills on another large construction project in the heart of Oxford.

The Lynch Brother Group Summer BBQ 2026, held this year at The Fishes in Botley, was about far more than simply celebrating another successful year.
It was a chance to bring together the people who make the Group what it is. Our employees, their families, our friends and everyone who supports us behind the scenes.

We are incredibly proud of the businesses we are building, but even more proud of the culture growing within them. A culture built around hard work, loyalty, opportunity, friendship and looking after one another.

As the Lynch Brother Group continues to grow, it is important that we never lose sight of where we came from or the people who have helped us get here. Days like this give everyone the chance to step away from the busy sites and offices, spend time together and celebrate what we are achieving as one team and one extended family.

Growth is important, but culture is everything. It is what brings people together, what makes them proud to be part of the journey and what will continue to shape the Lynch Brother Group for years to come.

Not every home is built to perform like this one 🏑

We're making strong progress on our high performance new build in Kennington, Oxford. A five bedroom detached home with detached garage, designed and built to near Passivhaus standards.

Our photographer captured the site last week and the build is really coming together. The standing seam roof is complete, stonework is nearing completion at the rear, and the timber cladding has been coated ready for installation. Internally, ground floor plastering is almost finished, first floor boarding is well underway, and the kitchen has arrived on site ready for install.

Performance is at the heart of this project. MBC timber frame construction, exceptional levels of airtightness and insulation, air source heat pump, MVHR, solar PV and rainwater harvesting, all working together to deliver a home with minimal running costs.

We remain on programme for handover in October 2026 and I look forward to sharing the finished home.
