A beautiful new beginning for an Edwardian home 💚

There’s something so special about a period property — the details, proportions and character that tell the story of the home. So when it came to replacing the entrance door of this beautiful Edwardian property in Bracknell, Berkshire, the new door needed to feel as though it had always belonged there.

Our team manufactured and installed this bespoke inward-opening timber front door with a top light, carefully designed around the character of the property.

The door was crafted from engineered European redwood and finished in Farrow & Ball Card Room Green No.79 — a beautifully understated shade that complements the Edwardian architecture perfectly. 💚

And then came the details…
✨ Traditional bolection mouldings
✨ Raised and fielded panels
✨ Frosted double glazing with a clear border

Even the installation required careful attention, including removing the existing metal weatherstrip and accommodating a 10mm difference in height across the frame.

The original door had become increasingly draughty, particularly during the winter months. The new timber door brings together traditional Edwardian character with modern performance, helping create a warmer, more comfortable and secure entrance.
