Power trips? 😩 Follow these tips! 🫡 An electrical fault can be an emergency at worst and a nuisance at best. Dishonest companies know this and they flood google to prey on you panicking. They’ll tell you it’s a call out of X amount, then they’ll do the work and say “that fee was just to turn up, it’s an extra £500 for the work we’ve done.” We despise these sort of companies and we advise that if using google, you pick a local tradesperson. By that, we mean making sure they’re local and not one of the paid ads that says they “serve” your area. These companies target key words like “emergency” and “24/7” and your call goes to a guy who gets a random, unvetted tradesperson to turn up and then tries to rip you off. This isn’t just with electrics either! By following these tips if your power is tripping, you may be able to avoid an expensive emergency call out and be able to make a more informed decision on employing an electrician to fix the problem, in normal hours at standard rates. If an electrician comes to fix the fault and tells you that you need a rewire or consumer unit upgrade, we strongly advise getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion.
