Dovetail Fire Doors Ltd is looking for a motivated and reliable trainee to join us on site. We are based in Paignton and carry out specialised fire door installations and remediation across Devon.

You donโ€™t need prior experience in joinery or fire doors you just need a great work ethic, a willingness to learn, and to be reliable. We will teach you everything from the ground up!

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:
โ€ข โ€‹Working in various environments: You will be travelling with us to different sites across Devon, working in schools, care homes, commercial buildings, and residential flats.
โ€ข โ€‹Keeping the Site Tidy: Taking pride in the workspace by setting up floor protection, managing dust extraction, clearing debris, and ensuring the site is left spotless and safe at the end of every day.
โ€ข โ€‹Hands-on Carpentry: Learning to safely use specialist power tools (like track saws and routers) under close, expert supervision.
โ€ข โ€‹Precision Fire Safety: Learning the critical elements of fire compliance, including how to fit intumescent and cold smoke seals, prepare structural openings, and set precision gap tolerances to save lives.
โ€ข โ€‹Installation: Assisting in the handling, hardware fitting, and precise hanging of heavy, solid-core FD30 fire doorsets.

๐Ÿ“… The Details:
โ€ข Working Days: 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday). Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week!
โ€ข Starting Pay: Competitive starting trainee rate while you learn the ropes, with all one-on-one training, tools, and PPE provided.
โ€ข Progression & Earning Potential: We want to reward hard work. You will have a 3-month probation check-in, followed by a guaranteed 6-month pay review. As you master the trade and pick up compliance skills, your day rate will increase. Your earning potential grows directly with your abilities.
โ€ข Location: Based out of Paignton, travelling to sites across Torbay and South Devon.
