Reminder that the 10th December 2025 deadline to submit an Expression of Interest for the Cadw Listed Building Regeneration Grant Scheme (LBRGS) is fast approaching. Grants up to 50% within £10,000 - £250,000 range are available.

Afraid there is a narrow window of eligibility - listed buildings considered at risk or vulnerable (according to the All Wales Listed Building Condition database) or those that have deteriorated to such extent since the last assessment. Works including professional fees are restricted to urgent structural repairs, conservation of fabric or repairs and accessibility improvements that help bring the building back into use. Priority is also given to schemes that provide wider community benefits.

Huge thank you to the players. Funding from the National Churches Trust in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund has allowed essential repair work to commence at St Gwynio Church, Llanwinio. This will create a safer environment, reduce damage from water ingress, conserve built heritage and support protected species.

Extremely busy day at the Sustainable Buildings Fair yesterday. My stand contained information and guidance on topics such as:
* What is happening in our roof spaces (post insulation)
* The limecrete system - is it a breathable floor ?
* The dangers of internal wall insulation (all types)
* Excemptions in Building Regulations Approved Part L (conservation of fuel and power) for traditional buildings
* The impact is more than visual (double glazing)
* Why are buildings damp
