🏗️ Project in Wimbledon! 🏡

This exciting project is located near Wimbledon Hill Park, on a site where a large, existing residential dwelling was demolished to make way for a brand-new, extensive domestic property. The new construction includes a basement level housing a pool and gym, along with an additional three floors above.

Quorum Consulting Engineers were appointed to deliver the Structural and Civil Engineering design, Construction Management, and CDM coordination for the development.

The basement was constructed using contiguous piling around most of the perimeter, with secant piling in the pool area for added integrity. This was followed by a reinforced concrete inner wall lining, which not only forms the internal structure but also contributes to the waterproofing strategy.

We worked closely with specialist waterproofing contractors to ensure a watertight, robust sub-structure, fit for high-end domestic living.

We had the pleasure of working with our friends at Simon Merrony Architects on the wrap-around extension and internal modification for a 2-storey semi-detached dwelling in . Quorum provided the structural design for the extension and internal modifications for this interesting renovation project!

🏗️ Project Spotlight: Basement Construction for Multi-Property Development 🏠

Quorum were proud to be commissioned for the civil and structural engineering, CDM, and party wall services on this exciting residential development in Streatham Common!

The project involved the construction of approximately 4,000 sq ft of habitable basement space and an additional 2,000 sq ft at ground floor level, forming 4 high-quality homes — each with fully functional basement dwellings.

Our team undertook the design and detailing of the basement construction, working closely with the architect and contractor to coordinate a seamless superstructure. The solution combined load-bearing masonry with a steel beam framework, ensuring both structural integrity and efficient buildability.

We worked with our friends to design two build dwellings.

Quorum provided the design and details for the reinforced concrete garages, the steel frames for the garage openings, as well as the ground floor level structure and stepped foundations for the timber frame dwellings.
