Pittodrie Stadium was the venue for Toolbox Talk No8 today, sponsored by Aico, with plenty of chat as we caught up with Members in the north.

As well as four technical updates, Members competed for a range of prizes, with the winners as follows:

🥇Andy Milne from HF Mechanical & Electrical scooped gold in the quiz, taking home the Luceco Group downlights.

🥈Jamie Ironside from Stenson (Laurencekirk) Limited won the Test Instrument Solutions safe isolation kit.

🥉Dave Rae of E Rae & Son won the Flexel International heat mat.

Prize draw winners on the day were:

🎖️Roy Gauld of Gauld Electrical Ltd, who won the Click Scolmore goodie bag.

🎖️Alan Bell from Stenson (Laurencekirk) Limited, who took home the Vectaire fan.

🎖️Rory Donnelly of JAR Electrical Services Ltd, who scooped the Fluke Corporation voltage continuity tester.

🎯The darts competition in aid of The Electrical Industries Charity saw Aaron Skinner from Skinntec Electrical Contracting hit 106 to win the Megger goodies.

Thanks to everyone who made it another huge success. We'll be taking a week off but will return for the Oban event on 10 June!

As the new Scottish Parliament takes its seats, we've wasted no time in continuing our campaign for regulation of the electrical industry by securing two sign-ups to our Wall of Support from the latest intake of MSPs.

Newly-elected Scottish National Party (SNP) representatives David Barratt and Lloyd Melville have both pledged their backing for protection of title for electricians, giving an early boost to our long-running crusade.

The seventh Toolbox Talk event in the roadshow diary was hosted at the brilliant Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness, sponsored by Aico. There was plenty of technical chat and engagement, with Members winning the following prizes:

🥇Alan Scott from EAL electrical Ltd, who swooped right at the end of the quiz to take gold and win the Test Instrument Solutions safe isolation kit.

🥈Jack Borland from MKM Electrical Contractors Ltd, who won the Luceco Group downlights

🥉Harley McFarlane from Macpherson Electrical Ltd, who won the Flexel International heat mat

Prize draw winners on the day were:
🎖️Dylan Allan from Mackay Electrical Limited, who won the Click Scolmore goodie bag

🎖️Alan Smith from RW Bell (Electrical) Pitlochry Ltd, who won the Vectaire fan

🎖️Joe Dunbar from E A L Electrical Ltd, who won the Fluke Corporation voltage continuity tester.

🎯The Electrical Industries Charity darts competition was a tie between two Members who each scored 71. There was a shoot-out with one dart each for the closest to the bullseye, and the winner was Kevin Ross from K Ross Electrical Contractor, who beat the Inverness Chair Michael Campbell from RSE for the Megger prize.

The quiz was very competitive with SECTT apprentices out in force, and the winners were...

🥇 Branch Vice Chair Matt Burton, from Matt Burton Electrical, who won the safe isolation kit from Test Instrument Solutions

🥈 Craig Hutchison from Lotus Electrical Services Ltd, who won the Luceco Group downlights

🥉 Oliver Hutchings from Lotus Electrical Services Ltd, who won the Flexel International underfloor heat mat.

🎯 Scott Hogg, also from Lotus Electrical Services Ltd, got the highest darts score of the day on The Electrical Industries Charity fundraising game, hitting 74.

Finally, we had two prize draws on the day. Oliver Blackwood from Derek Mitchell Group Ltd won the Ovia Lighting downlights, and James Carnochan from Loreburn Housing Association won the Fluke Corporation voltage continuity tester.

✅ Another event on the Toolbox Talks roadshow ticked off the list, sponsored by Aico . Thank you to all the SELECT Members and Associates for making this event very enjoyable with lots of questions and positive feedback. The winners of the day were:

🥇 Charlie White from South Ayrshire Council winning the Luceco Group downlights

🥈 Jack Rae from David Rae Electrical winning the safe isolation kit from Test Instrument Solutions

🥉 Jamie Luke also from David Rae Electrical winning the underfloor heat mat from International Ltd

🎯 The darts competition from today's event raised over £65 for the The Electrical Industries Charity, and the winning person on the oche with a score of 81, was Joe McCallum from South Lanarkshire Council, winning the Megger prize.

Finally Ovia Lighting had a prize draw to win some downlights, and the randomly picked winner was Robert Wilson from ARL Wilson Electrical Services.
