Another one done and dusted!

Very dry conditions for this one with a lot of debris in the ground, it took six passes over the whole area to get it to an acceptable standard.

Approximately 25tons was removed and carted away before seeding took place. Hopefully with the recent wet weather it won’t be long before the customer will see a green coverage.

Great day out yesterday supporting Newborough YFC annual tractor run, this year in memory of local farmer Hayden Grooby who sadly died last year.

Phase two completed!

This was the second part of the job from last year, part of this lawn had been built up with subsoil and excavations in the past and was too high.

Material was dug out to a depth of approximately 300mm and carted away, new soil was then bought in ( Boughton Loam Landscape 20) and levelled out. A final rake was then done before fertiliser and grass seed was sown and rolled in.

Thirty tons of gravel was delivered and spread over a tired looking drive, all in all a very satisfying conclusion to this one.

Another worn out lawn replaced.

Top surface sprayed off and removed two weeks later, soil cultivated and surface levels improved. Seedbed created with the rotorake before grass seed was sown and rolled.

Was asked recently to help get the hardcore levels correct on two new padel courts being built at Burghley golf club.

The hardcore was laser levelled then compacted with a vibrating roller. Next will be the tarmac.

Bit of a wet soggy one but we got there!

W**d growth removed before the heavens opened again to make it unworkable as it was. The only solution was to use sand to help get a decent finish for the turf, it all worked out well and the job was completed before the new home owners moved in. 👌

Additional parking area created.

Front lawn in pretty poor condition dug out, concrete edgings installed, hardcore levelled and compacted and finished off with 20mm sized grey granite.

Last job of the year!

Thankfully we chose the best day of the week to spread twelve jumbo bags of silica sand over an artificial sports pitch,normally it would get brushed into the surface but due to the amount of rain we had the previous day the surface was so wet it would of made a mess. Hopefully if we have more rain it will wash it in for us.

One day left to finish washing machines down and getting them put away then time to relax!

Local turfing project recently completed.

Existing grass was removed before extra topsoil was carted in to build up levels. Soil was levelled out then raked off leaving a fine finish. Turf was then laid and lightly rolled.

I need to give a big shout out to Richard@ Cambridge and Peterborough Turf for delivering it for me, saved me a lot of time, allowing me to get the job completed before the rain arrived.

Phase one completed!

Customer wanted this mound with mature bushes and shrubs removed as it was blocking the view across open countryside.

Bushes removed a few weeks ago, the material in the mound was no good so it was carted away before landscape20 topsoil ( Boughton loam) was bought in, levelled and raked off. Grass seeding was undertaken early in the morning with help from a slight frost on the ground which helped to stop the damp soil picking up on the machine.

Looking forward to phase two starting in early 2026!
