Lead Gulley

As the building we going to work on was Grade 2 listed bulding, we had to liaise with the the local conservation officer.

Standard procedure for our guys. Once on the roof we had to strip the previous lead gulley and we soon realised where the leaks had been taking place.

Once everything had been stripped, the team proceeded to replace the lead gulley. Once it was all in place they began shaping the lead using lead beaters to mould the lead into it’s correct place with the appropriate tools. Lead Beaters, Lead snips, years of skills and plenty of elbow grease is what is required here.

A combination of a highly skilled roofer and a some Patination oil, this is the end product!

Brilliant work from our most senior roofer, Martyn Upex.

Chimney Rebuild

A nice challenge this one!

The guys went to do, what was thought, to be a standard chimney rebuild. However, once they got there, they soon realised that the previous people who had done the chimney hadn’t aligned it correctly. This was no issue for the Synergy lads though, as resolved this issue by taking the chimney down and relaying it, but this time they erected the chimney level and straight.

Customer certainly appreciated chimney being erected straight, and was very happy happy with the synergy lads problem solving skills! well done guys!

We were called in as part of the renovation of the Railway in Whittlesey ( ). The old roof over the restaurant was old and worn and the new decor would have been ruined by the old leaking felt roof so we installed a new GRP roof.

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) or otherwise known as "Fibreglass"

Fibreglass roofing is a cost effective flat roof that will last decades.

The customer wanted a the entirety of the attached ground floor floor fibreglassed. Relatively straight forward, after the prep work we were left with rolling out fibreglass then applying the roof resin followed by painting the while roof with the topcoat to finish the job.

Another job with “quality” written all all over it. Well done Jamie Oconnor, Paul Richer and Jake Mcguinness. Just a shame the pub had no beer in stock so we could enjoy the weather and admire our handywork !

Slate reroof.

This time around, we found ourself out in the village of Nassington. As per with any reroof, the first step is to always remove the old slates first. then, we take care of the old batten and old felt. The next step is to nail down the new felt and batten – always using BS5534 breathable membrane and treated batten – once this is done, the new slate are ready to be laid. As you can see below, good prep work enables the tiles to be put in with out any hiccups.

A fantastic effort all round from the Synergy team, which Consists of Jamie Oconnor, Paul Richer, Jake Mcguinness, Simon Christie and Martyn Upex.
