Today on dahlia watch😍

I have a feeling this is my Arabian Night, one of my bargain buys from B&Q at £1.75

There's nothing like brewing yourself a cup of tea and having a morning constitutional to see what's new to bloom in your garden

Show me what out and living it's best life in your garden below🌺❤️

Oh I'm so happy.
The one and only dahlia tuber that made it through overwintering indoors has had its first bloom.

I think this was my

I'm so so happy.
But after losing nine this year, I'm definitely leaving them in the ground as my others I didn't lift have come back gloriously.

Watch this space for more blooms on more dahlias ❤️

It's taken a few weeks, but I will NOT let this Soapwort beat me 🤬.

It's very pretty, smells gorgeous but it is TOTALLY rogue and invasive.

Travelling and hopping underground via spaghetti roots, this plant is definitely one to keep in a pot ON feet!

As you can see, this is a bit of a nightmare.

With w**d liner under the gravel, it is still travelling everywhere and even jumping underneath to the other side of the path.

Sections i dig each week are still coming back.

It's a BU**ER!

Managing the spread of soapwort (Saponaria officinalis) is essential because its underground rhizomes can easily overwhelm neighbouring plants.
I've taken it back to ground level and dig what I can without ripping the entire pathways up, it's just one I'm going to have to keep on top of for the rest of my life I think🥴🤪

Creeping Wood Sorrel and Ivy Leafed Toadflax

I've been pulling these two suckers out of gravel today

Pretty, but very invasive

If you want it, I would recommend containing it to a pot as those little suckers self seed and spread like a gooodun!!!

This morning's garden was clearing Ivy and putting in lots of lovely new plants, and this afternoon was a new cleanup job ❤️

Have a little look at the 'NOW' in the comments and check back to see what it looks like in a few weeks🤪

What a difference are clear up and some new plants make.
I've been working on this garden over the last few months to give it a fresh new look, some colour cutting into the borders and a tidy up.
With chosen perennials and evergreens that the client loves, together with starting her off on her love of sowing from seed, it's really coming together and it makes my heart happy ❤️🌺

Well.... I had the afternoon off today to do some much-needed jobs in my own garden but I ended up at a garden centre...
oh my goodness!
Bedding plants for 25p perennials and some evergreens for a £1!
I was incredibly reserved and only spent £25 on plants all in the sale apart from a Rudbeckia

Then I went and spoiled it all by buying a gigantic pot😱.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to put in it but it was recycled plastic and an absolute bargain I couldn't walk away!

I think I might put my wisteria in it💜

What did you do this weekend?

25/07/2026

Happy Friday everyone.

Another hot one, but I had company today.

Deadheading!

One of the most important things. You've got to put the time in.

If you don't cut those spent flowers or the way down the stem to the joining branch the plant will stop flowering

It thinks it's made it's babies, send a signal to its plant brain😜 and thinks it's done his job
Bosh, no more flowers🤷‍♀️

Gardening is all about time, it always takes longer than you think it will.

Simply deadheading these took 15-20 minutes alone.

But think how much bigger they will be with their second bloom❤️.

Have a great weekend folks

What a lovely day, with two new gardening clients good weather and Disney.
I can't tell you the difference having soft soil to work with makes.
Whilst I'm under no illusion that I won't have to w**d again, I'm sure everything is self seeded from last year but at the moment it's looking good.
This morning's roses were divine and smelt absolutely gorgeous

It was a lot hotter than I expected it to be today so wearing leggings was a bad choice😬.

Now I'm pooped, and snuggling with the Pups

Happy days everyone, happy days❤️

Look who came to visit me yesterday.
I get all sorts of squiggly and excited when they visit my garden. A hummingbird moth.
How utterly gorgeous🌺
Grow those pollenaters folks they absolutely adore

How is everyone's garden surviving with the hose pipe ban.
My grass is non-existent .
If I blew on it the whole thing with blow away😓

PS excuse my duvet, it really was a perfect laundry day🤪
