Spotted this beauty on the plot today - enjoying a wasp for her lunch 😍 Got so close I could hear her chewing 🤩
They are one of my favourite insects - I've built 2 ponds to attract them to the plot!
Not 100% sure but I think it's a female Emperor? Any experts please do let me know 🙂

Some fun facts about these beauties for you:

Dragonflies have almost 360° vision thanks to their huge eyes, which contain up to 30,000 individual lenses 🤯

They can fly in every direction - forwards, backwards, sideways, hover in place, and even fly upside down!

They are super efficient predators with 95% success rate when hunting 👏

They spend most of their lives underwater, living as nymphs for 1–5 years before emerging as the beautiful flying insects we see ♥️

I sowed a few chillies and couple of aubergines back in January. Not much happened and I thought they fell victims of my neglect - they weren't growing much. I could not be bothered to get the heat mats or lamps down from the loft and just left the seedlings to fend for themselves. Somehow they survived and I potted them on 4 weeks ago and voila! They're thriving 😍 ✨️
I guess there's a lesson somewhere there about resilience, not giving up and patience 🙂

Don't ask me what they are. I'm bad at labelling and even when I do label stuff, I lose the labels so whatever I manage to grow.. is always a surprise 😅

I've not given my plot the love it deserves this year but nonetheless... it's a gift that keeps on giving, despite my failures to look after it properly 🥰
I've just picked this posy for my desk - verbena bananarama, Sweet Williams, perennial sweet peas, red campions and honeysuckle and the scent is just sooooooo intoxicating 🤩
