*Announcement* I have decided, for numerous reasons to cease trading and will no longer be working as a self employed carpenter.
There was certainly no shortage of work and I apologise to the many on the waiting list that I did not get to see.
Many thanks to all the lovely customers I was able to see this year, you were all very much appreciated.
I finish with a few more pics of some recent projects.
Best wishes
John Ambrose.

Bespoke Dog Gate in Oak with black fittings to match the rest of the property. Recycled the old metal gate to use the bars in the design for this one. Posts scribed in to match the angles of the walls.
Finished with 2 Coats of Osmo oil clear Matt, applied with Webrax pad which are great at smoothing the raised grain as it’s applied. Lovely project to work on. 🐶

Cabinet alteration to remove doors, make good the frame and add some open bookcase shelving. Great to repurpose rather than replace.
Also remove some wallpaper then redecorate room with two coats on ceiling, walls (Dulux Buttermilk Matt), woodwork and fire surround. Appreciate being able to return to these lovely customers and update another room.

Customer has kindly sent me some pics of the set of wardrobes I built and fitted now they have finished painting them, great job they have done on them. Think they look brilliant and shows just how good Mdf furniture can be.

Out with the Old in with the New.
Wooden deck boards replaced with Cladco composite decking have transformed this space. Just a few repairs needed to joists in some areas but otherwise the main structure was sound and sits within a galvanised metal framework which helped to maintain a flat level surface, perfect to swap from wood to composite.

Bit more decorating recently which is always an enjoyable change from the tools. This time some wallpaper removal as well. For this I used Zinsser Dif and their paper scoring tool to avoid any damage to the walls. which works a treat. 2 coats of Dulux on ceiling and walls and white eggshell to the woodwork.

Custom, made to size, Ledged and Braced door to replace old original. Fitted with new galvanised ironmongery.
For this one I machined the V-Tongue & Groove myself to keep material costs sensible and widths of panels to the size I need. Built the traditional way with braces dowelled in place and all screws covered with wooden plugs. Sanded ready for painting. Frame repairs also made to each side to replace rotten timber.
Has been a lovely project to work on.

A few fence posts repairs. Easy solution to common problem, post rots at ground level (see pic) and then fence starts to lean over. Insert a spur and attach to current post, strengthens fence again without having to take down or replace. Can be in concrete for long life or in timber for better aesthetics.

Set of fully built in Wardrobes completed for a master bedroom and 2nd bedroom.
Really enjoy this type of build and appreciate my customers for their trust in me to give them a quality product. Surprising what you can do with 16 sheets of Mdf and the Tulip Wood Cornice from WRP mouldings was a joy to work with.
