Carried out a gas safety certificate today and found this beauty.
Needless to say it has been disconnected and will need replacing.

Take total control over your heating system and have a smart thermostat installed.

You will be able to operate your heating system from your smart phone.
Going home later and dont want to heat an empty house or going to be home early and want a warm house to walk into, the Nest allows you to perform these actions.

If the tops of your radiators are cold, vent them with a bleed key.
Dont forget to check/refill system pressure after venting.

If your boiler is running with heating off and no hot water demand, then you might have preheat switched on.
Switch off preheat or select Eco mode and save money by only heating the water you use.

Thinking of switching the heating on soon?

Might be worth checking your boiler pressure is at 1 bar.
It may need filling up if low.
I can usually advise how to do this over a phone call.
