After today’s final call-out, I’ll be taking a short break over Christmas to spend some quality time with family and loved ones. I hope many of you can enjoy some well-earned downtime too.

After my initial plans to wrap things up for Christmas last week, the last actual trip out in the van for 2025 🤞🏻 was today to sort out an emergency job.
Hopefully I can get some well deserved family time for the next week and a bit.

5:50pm and off to the final smart thermostat install of the day — because in the last three days, the weather’s basically nosedived to freezing temps! ❄️

Seems like everyone’s just flipped their heating on, and guess what? I’m seeing a wave of folks whose old controls have given up right when they need them most. The install I’m heading to (and the last one) are both for homes that had zero heating all week because their old controls failed.

So if you’re still relying on a dinosaur of a thermostat, now’s the perfect time to upgrade before you’re left in the cold. Hit me up if you want to get sorted and keep cozy.

🔧 Just a quick heads-up for anyone with a Google Nest thermostat!

Google have now ended online support for the 2nd Generation Nest thermostats, so they’ll still heat your home but won’t connect to the app or Google servers anymore.

They’ve also stopped making the 3rd Gen Nests, which means stock is getting really hard to find — even though support will continue for now.

We’ve installed hundreds of Nests over the years as Nest Pro Elite Installers, but we also work with a wide range of other smart heating systems. So if you’ve got a 2nd Gen Nest that’s just lost its smart features, or you’re thinking about upgrading to something new, we can help find the best option for your home and heating setup.

🚀 Exciting times at our end as we wrap up a busy season prepping student accommodations for the new university year! 📚 With the student rush in full swing, we just completed an essential upgrade in a housing property for a new landlord. Initially, concerns arose about multiple non-working lights. 🤔 But after some investigation, we discovered the issue was simply outdated fixtures—over 10 years old! and being integrated fittings, you can't just change the lamps! We quickly replaced them with brand-new fittings featuring easily replaceable lamps. 💡✨ This not only brightens up the space for incoming students but also helps reduce future maintenance costs. As students get ready to move in, we’re proud to ensure their new homes are cozy, safe, and energy-efficient! 🏡 Ready for another year of learning and living! 🎉

To ensure the space is fully equipped for quality lessons, we added extra sockets to power all the tech needs. Plus, a dedicated data cable and Unifi WiFi access point guarantees seamless connectivity for online resources and virtual tutoring. 📡💻

Fitting a hexagon LED detailing light in a garage today, and I love jobs like this! These setups completely transform a space. It's all about making the most of the area and giving it a whole new feel.
