BLEC GROUP are currently looking to appoint subcontractors for ongoing works across our life-safety and compliance projects.

We are seeking:
• Established electrical companies, pairs, or small teams
• Available for day rate or price work packages
• Experienced in commercial / residential compliance environments
• Able to demonstrate high standards of workmanship

✅ Mandatory Requirements
• Public Liability Insurance
• ECS or CSCS cards
• NICEIC Approved Contractor status or BAFE accredited
• Evidence of previous works (photos, project references, certification examples)

BLEC GROUP are expanding and we’re looking for an Approved Electrician with strong testing knowledge to join our growing life-safety and compliance team.

This is a lighter, steady role ideal for an experienced electrician who’s had enough of constant site work or house bashing and wants a more structured, professional workload.

✅ What we’re looking for
• Approved Electrician status
• 2391 (or equivalent) – essential
• Very strong knowledge of electrical testing & inspection
• Professional, reliable, and comfortable working in occupied residential buildings

🔧 The role includes
• Carrying out EICRs in residential apartment blocks
• Running 230V supplies to support fire alarm & smoke control engineers
• Emergency lighting testing
• Emergency lighting remedial works
• Working mainly in communal areas in blocks of apartments.

Battling the weather in Cardiff this week!

We’ve been working across 5 high-rise buildings installing 8 certified AOV roof vents with the tallest standing at 19 storeys. We planned the lifts to perfection and made best use of a weather window, supported by a 120t crane.

Massive credit to our engineers and the crane team professional as ever and delivered brilliantly under pressure.

Alongside this, we also completed another fire alarm installation for a major high-street supermarket in central London.

Now just tying up a few loose ends and pushing hard on one large AOV project here in Plymouth and regular PPM’s before Christmas… and then I’ll be grateful for a short breather!

🔥 30° in Exeter but still all systems go! 🔥

Today, some of our office team took a trip to sunny Exeter to meet with our on-site engineers and see firsthand what goes on in the field. These visits are more than just a change of scenery they’re vital.

Why? Because when our office staff understand what’s happening on the ground, they deliver better service, streamline admin processes, and communicate more effectively with both engineers and clients.

Of course, with the temperature peaking at 30°, we made time for a well-earned lunch and some cold refreshments too! ☀️🍴

We’re proud to be growing fast this week alone we’ve welcomed over 100 new service sites for full fire compliance. More and more property managers are seeing the value of a one-stop shop for all things fire safety, and we’re here to deliver.

Following a number of recent public contract wins and continued expansion plans, we are seeking experienced qualified electricians to join our delivery teams in the Southwest.

The position is ideal for someone who has the skills to advance their career within a growing group by demonstrating high levels of professionalism, attention to detail, client focus and teamwork.

Who are we looking for:

Reliable and committed
Good communication skills, initiative and attention to detail
Ability to work within a deadline driven team environment
At least 4 years' experience as a qualified electrician
BS 7671 17th Edition
A full UK driving license
ECS Card or equivalent
C&G (City & Guilds) Level 3 2391/2392 or 2394/2395
Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations and experience of completion of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) within commercial buildings
Flexible approach and awareness of customer service values essential

Engineers busy in Sussex today, a smooth tidy vent replacement. Thanks to the primary school giving us access to there school. We were unable to pass vent through shaft due to a really nice fabricated access for a change.
We also found some faults with Service Contractor “Fire Alarm Service Engineer” who altered addresses trying to find a fault that was actually a faulty motor 🤣!
