Finally this work year is over and what a fantastic year it’s been 😁
Started off with a great dormer conversion in Looe and ended currently 6 six months in to an old lodge conversion in Plymouth which will now be split into a 2 bedroom house and 3 bed house. It’s been extremely hard work and some well needed rest will be much appreciated before the new year begins.
I want to wish everyone a very merry christmas and appreciate anyone who has used RJC SOUTHWEST in the past or who is currently waiting for work to commence. Thank you 🙏🏻 and hope you all enjoy the festive period 🎅

What a great job to do on this bungalow at Rame view, Looe Cornwall.
Massive transformation to this property with probably the best views of any job I’ve had the privilege to work on overlooking Downderry , Seaton , Rame view all the way around to Looe island.

Due to the layout of the dormer construction and the next door neighbour having their dormer built 8 years prior there were a few technical challenges to overcome to meet building regs for fire safety and sound transfer between the two dwellings.
There was also technical challenges of head height clearance inside due to steel heights for floor joists and navigating all existing pipe work from air source heat pump and solar panels for the central heating fitted the year prior to start date.
This made clearance extremely difficult with having to install a GRP warm roof with 150mm insulation and still keeping original ridge line to meet the existing pitch slate roof but this was achieved perfectly and still meeting the 2m head room requirement inside.

The dormer was finished in the stunning grey slate JAMES HARDIE cement fibre cladding with anthracite fascia’s and large U-PVC window.

Internal finish was finished in sleek modern finishes kept simple and clean.
Glass balustrades optimising all the natural light from the large window.

All work was completed by myself with the exception of

WESTCOUNTRY FABRICATIONS for the supply and install of the steels.
