A plastering and property maintenance service founded on the back of 3 decades of military service - discipline, reliability, professionalism, integrity and dedication are just some of the common characteristics carried over into the civilian work environment. Time served as an apprentice plasterer on various sites in the North East of England before joining the Royal Marines, for what was meant to be a short 3 years of service; those 3 years evolved into 28 years! On leaving the military, I quickly got back on the tools, although I’d not actually put them down as many of my colleagues in the forces regularly requested my services, so I did keep my hand in!

The transition to civilian life can be daunting and difficult for many veterans, especially trying to adapt to the civilian work place, and whilst there are many supportive employers out there willing to give veterans a chance, many remain within the security industry, be it Maritime Security, or Close Protection; so never really re-integrating into civilian life.

Through 1664 Plastering & Property Services, I aim to offer a professional, reliable and fair service to anyone looking to have work done on their property, and as the business grows the aim will be to bring on board other veterans with the skill sets and attitude required to fullfil the tasks requested of us.

1664 was a good year, a famous beer was formed! Also, on 28 October 1664, The Royal Marines were born, and have since built a world class reputation for being amongst the The Elite fighting forces.
