I've spent the last four weeks restoring this old wall on the Hot Border at Cotehele, removing all the ivy and weeds. Hydraulic Lime 3.5 and brown sharp sand were used for the pointing. After the lime pointing had dried, I applied a muddy water wash to give it a weathered appearance, blending it seamlessly with its historic surroundings.
It is now ready for the Gardeners to plant up and restore the border to its former Glory. 🌱🪻🌹💐

Peony Garden Wall repairs using Hydraulic Lime/sand mixture, carefully colour-matched to seamlessly repair the missing broken bricks. A total of over 60 bricks have been faced up and distressed to harmoniously integrate with the original structure. Masses of roots were also removed and then rebuilt/repointed where needed.
