A Thing of Beauty Sewing Studio Sewing lessons led by a tutor with 45+years experience "A Thing of Beauty Sewing Studio is based at Mamhilad Park Estate. I've been here since August 2021.

During this time I have developed a well stocked haberdashery, that includes a Gutermann stand of threads. My passion is to teach people new skills, mostly dressmaking and also knitting, crochet, patchwork, quilting (EPP) doll and toy making etc. I run small sewing classes to ensure client's gain the most from their sessions. I regularly run bespoke, client-led workshops that focus on improving te

chniques and transferable skills. Past workshops have included trousers, pinafore dress, quilted bomber jackets, dressing gown, seasonal decorations, quilts and ragdolls. I have a range of sewing machines and overlockers for clients to use

My knitting and stitching journey the last couple of weeks has ranged from flannels, blankets, socks and slow stitching. Completing 3,019 hand basted liberty hexies has been wonderful.
Knitting in The Royal Albert Hall and Kensington gardens was the best 🧶🪡🧵✂️along with pub and train knitting in the lovely cities of London and Bath.

Finish It Off Fridays
Are you like me with lots of unfinished projects on the go? Need a bit of encouragement, more space, motivation?
The first Friday of the month is Finish it of Friday. The next one is Friday 1st May, 10-4pm £10 for the whole day, bring along your project and lunch. Stay all day or part of the day. This session is not tutor lead but you're able to use the sewing machines etc in the studio.
Booking essential as spaces are limited, payment with booking please.
