Wowzer! We've just received THE BEST news, and I am so excited to share it with our !

The McEwan Award is a RIBA Architectural award with an original mission:

"The award highlights projects that demonstrate a "mutual willingness of architect and client to push at the edges of what a typology can be". It covers a wide range of projects, including community-focused housing, public realm improvements, schools, and cultural buildings, often with a "making a lot with little" approach.

And guess what?!? Our building has been awarded HIGHLY COMMENDED for the recent retrofit and refurbishment! Isn't that exciting!

We've had a tremendous morning at with .cornwall, and . 's lovely architects took the time to show us behind the scenes, explaining the fascinating story of the project, the design, historical context, and some truly sublime use of materials.

Including the world's largest sheet of glass. In Cornwall?!? Indeed!

Jacob theTurkey was particularly interested in the discussions around fenestration and reveals.

The museum spaces are incredible and celebrate the life of humanitarian Emily Hobhouse. We have a new hero. Every Cornish person needs to visit because this is a part of our history we need to shout about more.

Phase 5 is out to tender!
This is one of the last elements of this tremendously exciting programme of works that will be the icing on the cake for the building as a whole.

Well that's a wrap from us!

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that we've worked with this year, from clients to consultants and fellow professionals, contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

The construction industry has a reputation, not entirely good - but it's the people that make it for us. We strive to transform our clients' dreams into reality, and we would never be able to do it without the people that we work with. So a huge thank you to everyone.

From our hearths to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas; Happy Hanukkah, Pancha Ganapati, Yule, Solstice, or however you choose to celebrate this time, and we are so excited to be working with you all in the New Year!

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. This bungalow site in North Cornwall has been demolished by and removed, ready for piling works to commence shortly. The replacement home, designed by , will be constructed by the fabulous .build, who currently seem to be on site attempting the world record for the construction of the world's largest sandcastle. Keep digging!

When it comes to listed buildings, it's the details that matter.

This beautiful home in Fowey is being renovated with the utmost care and attention to detail by , under the watchful eye of .studio, whose thoughtful and creative approach to design are allowing the whole team to explore techniques and approaches during this phase of the project that will ultimately create a stunning home that is going to be a truly special place to be. And... there's going to be a pool looking out over the river.

We are loving working on this project - even if it does mean braving horizontal rain!

Works are coming on apace at our project on the south coast.

The masonry works are progressing well to the first floor of this superb new build home, when it's not raining of course! A mix of masonry load bearing walls with steel will ultimately provide stunning views over the River Fal across both levels of accommodation.

We're providing the quantity surveying services, working with , and are doing a cracking job bringing the vision to life with the care and attention to detail that they're known for.

Can you guess where we are? We are so excited to be starting on site here very soon. A huge amount of work from the design team has been required in order to work adjacent to a very picturesque railway line... and a significant amount of piling is going to follow. But my, what a view.

We're delighted to be providing the Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying for the project. have done an excellent job at achieving a revised scheme on appeal, MBA Consulting have detailed the structural requirements, and all is now ready for to work their magic.

We can't wait to start on this project, where we'll be delivering the contract administration and quantity surveying. Recently granted planning approval, this scheme will provide some much needed internal alterations to the existing house, along with the demolition of the existing conservatory, and tasteful steel framed extension, allowing for full integration with the garden, which is going to be completely redesigned. Exciting stuff and we'll keep you updated as this project progresses.

Progress is excellent on this project in , .

For a smaller project, the roof configuration on this is complicated. Maintaining ridge heights whilst at the same time working in new extension sections, the team have had fun remembering their school trigonometry!

A significant reasoning for the works being undertaken was to improve the thermal efficiency of the original, single block bungalow in what will be a for our clients. We are providing the Contract Administration, and Quantity Surveying services for the project - and loving every minute of it!

Now nearing completion, this phased project near in has provided a large kitchen extension, a new boathouse, and a sensitive restoration of the existing, centuries old cottage. PV and air source provide new heating, whilst natural materials such as lime and slate have been used for the existing. Vacuum glass in locally produced timber window and door frames delivery exceptional thermal performance whilst providing the traditional, single glazed aesthetic that suit cottages best.
