We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of our latest roofing project in Swanage, delivering a high quality finish that reflects both precision and attention to detail throughout every stage of the build.

This project incorporated a range of specialist roofing elements, including the installation of Alwitra VSK parapet gutter systems, designed to provide robust and reliable water management. These were complemented by expertly fitted lead-capped copings, ensuring both durability and a clean, refined aesthetic along the roofline.

In addition, our team carried out the installation of traditional lead mop roll ridges, a technique that not only enhances the visual appeal of the roof but also offers long lasting weather protection. The pitched roof areas were finished using natural slate coverings, chosen for their timeless appearance, resilience, and ability to withstand the elements for years to come.

Every aspect of this project was completed with care and craftsmanship, and we’d like to give full credit to our team for delivering such an excellent result. Their commitment to quality and professionalism is evident in the finished work.
While the project is now complete, we’re especially looking forward to seeing the full visual impact once the scaffolding is removed, revealing the roof in its entirety and how it complements the surrounding property.

🚧 “Hard to reach jobs without scaffolding”?

We’ve seen those cherry picker ads claiming they’re the answer for tricky access… but when it comes to chimney repairs or removals, “quick and easy” can quickly turn dangerous.

Here’s why scaffolding is the far safer choice for working at height on chimneys:

✅ Rock-solid stability — No swaying basket, no risk of the machine tipping or shifting on uneven ground, soft verges, or when you’re applying force with tools, hammers, or during demolition. A properly erected scaffold gives your team a fixed, level platform with full guardrails and toe boards.

✅ No entrapment risk — Cherry pickers (MEWPs) carry a well-documented risk of the operator getting trapped between the basket and the chimney structure, especially in confined overhead areas. Once trapped against the controls, the machine can keep moving with tragic results. Scaffolding eliminates this entirely.

✅ Collective protection — Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, collective measures (like a full scaffold platform) are preferred because they protect everyone on site without relying on harnesses or operator perfection.

Chimney work often involves awkward angles, wind exposure, heavy materials, and vibration. One wrong movement in a cherry picker and the whole platform can become unstable. With scaffolding, your team works confidently and efficiently from a secure base.
