💵Salary - £350 Per Day
⌚️Working Day with Breaks - 08.00 - 16.30.
Job Overview
The role involves constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining outdoor decking structures for both residential and commercial properties. This position demands strong practical carpentry skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work safely, working at height at times with various tools and materials in outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Measure, cut, and assemble decking materials, including aluminium, composite, timber, and other materials as required for each project.
• Install subframes, joists, posts, and other supporting structures to provide a stable and secure base for decking.
• Lay and secure decking boards, ensuring all work aligns with the specified design plans and requirements.
• Fit handrails, balustrades, steps, and skirting to complete the installation of the decking structure.
• Ensure all work complies with current building regulations and adheres strictly to safety standards.
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently throughout the installation process.
• Prepare and level ground surfaces before commencing installation work to ensure stability and accuracy.
• Repair or replace damaged components of existing decking structures as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times, upholding high standards of safety and organisation.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with PM, team members, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience in decking installation or general carpentry.
• Sound knowledge of construction techniques and familiarity with various building materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with accuracy.
• Strong measuring and mathematical skills to ensure precise construction work.
• Proficiency in the safe use of power tools and equipment.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and handle heavy materials as part of daily tasks.
• Clear understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• NVQ or other recognised vocational qualification in Carpentry or Construction.
• Previous experience with the installation of aluminium/composite decking systems.
• Possession of a CSCS card or an equivalent industry certification.
• First Aid certification.
Working Conditions
• Work is carried out outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
• The role requires undertaking physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.
• Travel to different job sites may be necessary depending on project requirements.
