Dogs mean a lot to the Rice family so it was a no brainer when we were asked if we could support Mikey’s Dog Rescue. A reasonably small gesture can make such a difference, and we know this van will enable more dogs to be helped and supported. On a personal level we’ve done this in memory of our Buster who we lost last year - always remembered 🐾🐾❤️
🖤🐾 A slightly different post from us this evening… but we can barely contain our excitement! 🐾🖤
Since Mikey’s Dog Rescue began, every single transport journey has been done in our own personal cars. Whether it was a surrender, a vet visit, an emergency collection or taking a dog to their forever home, we simply made it work—often transporting just one or two dogs at a time, and only occasionally managing three in a larger vehicle.
Well… that’s all about to change.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Andy & Sue from Elite Fabrication & Welding Ltd, Mikey’s Dog Rescue now has its very own VAN! 🚐🖤
This is so much more than just a vehicle. It means we can safely transport more dogs, respond to emergencies more efficiently, and continue helping even more dogs when they need us most.
It still hasn’t quite sunk in that this van will soon be professionally sign-written (more on that very soon!) and proudly represent everything Mikey’s Dog Rescue stands for.
There are so many people who helped make “Operation MDR Van” a reality, and we are genuinely overwhelmed by the kindness and support we’ve received.
A very special thank you to Andy & Sue, Steve from Poole Tyres, Stuart from Renspec Repairs, and of course one of our Directors, Jason who started the conversation. Your generosity, time and belief in what we do will make a real difference to the lives of countless dogs.
From the bottom of our hearts… thank you. 🖤🐾
