That’s a wrap on our Trades Awards interviews and filming.

We were back in front of the cameras today talking about eb architect and our nomination for Building Improvement of the Year for our Kaizen project.

We were also there yesterday for our other nomination, Construction Consultancy of the Year.

It was a brilliant opportunity to talk about what we do and, more importantly, why we do it.

I’m genuinely proud talking about the business we’ve built and the way we approach every project. Our days are built around our clients, their homes and the problems they are trying to solve. It’s about listening, finding the right solutions and delivering the best possible value, rather than simply designing something for the sake of it.

The Kaizen project is a great example of the level of thought, detail and work that goes into what we do. It’s a project we’re incredibly proud of, and getting the opportunity to talk about the journey behind it was a real privilege.

Now the interviews are done, the filming is finished and there’s nothing left to do but wait.

Springbank

The sign has officially relocated to our latest onsite project.

The heavy lifting is now complete, with some seriously big bits of steel doing the hard work and holding the whole house together.

Now comes the exciting part…

Time to start putting this building back together.

Nearly two years in the making, and this is the stage where it all starts to feel real.

There’s something pretty special about seeing the steel go in and the roof take shape. Suddenly, those early sketches, scribbles and ideas start becoming an actual space you can stand in.

This is the fun part of architecture. Seeing the vision develop from the first rough lines on paper into something tangible.

And what a space this is going to be.

We’re not quite there yet, but it’s starting to come together nicely.

PLANNING APPROVED

We are delighted to have received planning approval this morning for the redevelopment of the former hosel at Dominies Road. This project is transforming the existing building into a vibrant new community facility.

It has been a challenging project to navigate through the planning process, so receiving the approval this morning is a fantastic milestone for everyone involved.

Now onto the next stage.

Building warrant, technical design and getting this one on site.

Another exciting project for our office.

Belvidere Street - The Steel Is Up

You don’t always get the real feeling for the scale and volume of a space until the steel frame starts to go up, and this extension is certainly starting to make an impression.

This is going to be an impressive addition to this home on Belvidere Street, creating a fantastic new space that is really going to transform the house.

You might recognise the dormer on the neighbouring property. We completed that project last year.

Must be doing something right, because we have now worked on three houses on this street. And this week, No. 37 was also granted both planning permission and a building warrant for alterations to their home.

We love seeing projects come together, but even better when our work leads to the next project on the same street.

More progress to come on this one.

We are heading off on holiday with some fantastic news!

We are absolutely delighted to have received confirmation that eb-architect has been selected as a finalist in not one, but two categories at this year's Trades Awards.

🏆 Construction Consultancy of the Year
🏆 Building Improvement Project of the Year for the transformation of the fabulous Kaizen on Union Street.

To be recognised alongside so many excellent businesses is a real honour and a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our team, clients and collaborators.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We are looking forward to celebrating with everyone on 30 October and keeping our fingers crossed for the results!

Work is now underway on Springbank Terrace in Aberdeen.

This full house redevelopment will transform the ground and lower ground floors, creating a contemporary home while respecting the character of the property. To the rear, a modest extension will provide additional living space, carefully designed to sit comfortably within the Conservation Area.

This week, the diggers arrived on site to break out the existing ground floor slab, making way for new insulation and underfloor heating that will significantly improve the home's comfort and energy efficiency.

We're looking forward to seeing this project take shape over the coming months. Follow our stories for regular site updates and a behind the scenes look at the transformation.

Rosehill

We're delighted to have been working with our clients to help bring the former hostel in Rosehill back to life through its transformation into a new community centre.

This project has been driven by local people, for local people, creating a valuable space that will serve the community for years to come.

Last week, we submitted the formal planning application for the proposed change of use. It's been fantastic to see the level of support the project has already received from the local community, and we hope the planning authority recognises the same enthusiasm and potential that local residents have shown.

We look forward to seeing this exciting community-led project progress in the months ahead.
