Another successful project completed by the Ventil8ed team in Southampton.

This property had been suffering from external defects that were restricting sub-floor ventilation and allowing cracking and deterioration to the render. Following our survey, we carried out a programme of remedial works designed to improve airflow, repair the damaged areas and protect the property for the long term.

✔️ Works Completed

✅ Opened three new airbrick locations above external ground level.

✅ Cleared the cavities and sub-floor void to establish a continuous airflow beneath the suspended timber floor.

✅ Bricked up redundant airbrick openings and relocated the ventilation to more effective positions.

✅ Installed telescopic underfloor ventilation ducts with new terracotta airbricks.

✅ Resin repaired structural cracks before carrying out a specialist mortar repair to the plinth and surrounding render.

✅ Re-rendered the repaired areas to a smooth finish.

✅ Decorated using high-quality white masonry paint to complete the project.

These improvements don't just enhance the appearance of the property—they help restore effective sub-floor ventilation, reducing the risk of moisture-related issues while protecting the external fabric of the building.

🏡 Project Complete | Chichester

A few weeks ago, we shared this project during the installation of our ISO-THERM internal thermal insulation system. Today, we're delighted to share the finished transformation.

When we first surveyed this property, the sloping ceilings were found to be thermally deficient, allowing the internal surface temperature to fall below the dew point during the colder months. The result was persistent condensation and an increased risk of mould growth.

Rather than simply treating the visible symptoms, we addressed the underlying cause.

The transformation is now complete, with the ISO-THERM system installed and the specialist plaster finish providing a clean, seamless result that will help improve the thermal performance of the property for years to come.

The before and after photographs really highlight the difference—not only in appearance, but in the long-term protection now provided against condensation and mould.

🏡 Southampton Project Update – Job 2

Another busy week for the Ventil8ed team, with our second project currently underway in Southampton.

Following a comprehensive damp survey, moisture testing and salt analysis, we confirmed that rising damp was not present. Instead, our investigation identified the true cause as condensation, resulting from elevated internal humidity, inadequate ventilation and thermally deficient external walls.

Our programme of works includes:

✅ Installation of the ISO-THERM internal thermal insulation system to the lounge bay window and child's bedroom external wall.

✅ Installation of a Nuaire Flatmaster 2000 ventilation system.

✅ New Nuaire humidistat-controlled extractor fans to the kitchen and bathroom.

✅ Passive ventilation to improve airflow and reduce internal humidity.

The ISO-THERM system is currently being installed and, once complete, the areas will be left ready for our plastering team before moving on to the decoration and final ventilation works.

At Ventil8ed, we believe in diagnosing before providing treatment. Every recommendation is based on evidence gathered during our survey, ensuring we're addressing the underlying cause rather than simply masking the symptoms.

Another project progressing well by the Ventil8ed team in Chichester.

Following a detailed survey, these sloping ceilings were identified as being thermally deficient, allowing the internal surface temperature to fall below the dew point during colder months. This creates the ideal conditions for surface condensation and mould growth.

Rather than simply treating the visible symptoms, we've addressed the underlying cause.

✅ Our ISO-THERM internal thermal insulation system has now been installed to improve the thermal performance of the sloping ceilings.
✅ The installation has been completed and the ceilings have now been left ready for plastering, before being redecorated using a mould-resistant paint system.

By increasing the internal surface temperature, the risk of condensation forming on these areas is significantly reduced, providing a long-term solution rather than a temporary fix.

A quick progress update from one of our current projects in Southampton, where we're carrying out a comprehensive condensation and moisture management programme.

The existing contaminated plaster has now been removed, allowing us to install our specialist cavity drainage membrane to the affected bay and external walls. This system will isolate residual moisture and hygroscopic salts from the new internal finishes while providing a thermal break to help reduce the risk of future condensation.

As part of the external remedial works, we've also reduced the oversized air bricks and installed telescopic underfloor ventilation sleeves, improving airflow beneath the suspended timber floor and ensuring effective sub-floor ventilation.

Progress so far:
✔️ Contaminated plaster removed
✔️ Specialist cavity drainage membrane installed
✔️ Oversized air bricks reduced to the correct size
✔️ Telescopic underfloor ventilation installed
✔️ External remedial works completed
⏳ Decorating and final reinstatement still to come

Another week... another project underway. 👷‍♂️

This week we've started another damp remediation project, taking the affected walls back to the original brickwork to expose the true condition of the substrate and prepare the property for long-term remedial works.

As part of the project, the existing defective cavity wall insulation has been professionally extracted to remove the moisture bridge that was contributing to the damp issues. A big thank you to the team at VacExtract for carrying out another excellent cavity extraction.

With the cavity now clear, we can continue with the reinstatement works, ensuring the walls are able to perform as intended and helping to eliminate the original cause of the problem.

To further reduce the risk of future condensation, we'll also be installing a new humidistat-controlled extractor fan within the bedroom, providing continuous automatic ventilation when humidity levels rise and helping to maintain a healthier internal environment.

Every property is different, which is why we always identify the cause before recommending the most appropriate long-term solution.
