For a good number of years now, Checkatrade have been asking customers upon leaving reviews how much they paid.
I knew all along what was coming.
Them agreeing a price with a consumer, then farming the job out to whoever was available the quickest for a lower rate while they take a slice of the profit.
Checkatrade don’t care about the tradespeople anymore, it’s just a money grab.
They certainly dont care who’s on there now either, they take on as many trades as they can to maximise profits without a clue of their capabilities or integrity.
It was once a fantastic site, trades were properly monitored and were even checked in on.
Now they rip off tradesmen to be on their site and are now trying to take their profits as well.
I would advise everyone not to use it anymore.
Customers are getting the fastest finger first, willing to work for less than they should.
What does that tell you about the trade coming to visit you ?
It’s not designed to protect trades or customers, it’s there to purely take our dough
