After last weeks Open Studio I decided to re-frame these two paintings, they had previously been in a beautiful thin Paris Rooftop grey frame, but after sitting with them for 4 days in the show I wanted to switch it up. Enter warmer thicker gentle oak frame. Am totally chuffed with them! I always feel that the frame choice is the final part of the jigsaw of paintings, it holds them in their space and is another choice that the artist makes. Delivering No 1 this weekend to its new owner, No 2 (Runaway Horses) is still available and currently on my wall at home 😁

Sometimes I’m really blown away by the vision my collectors have, when they see art work in the studio and they just know exactly how bloody cool it will look in the space they were considering. There is an exchange of trust between us and I never take it for granted!

An incredible Day 1 at the Wimbledon Art Fair!

All these paintings went to their new homes yesterday, but don’t worry, there’s plenty more to go up on the walls in their place 😍

To give you some more insight, I decided to ask my family which were their favourites of my new paintings and this is the selection they made!

Pic 1 My son chose ‘Today’s Song’ because he loves the darker rich colours, the emptiness in it and that he keeps coming back to look at it. This painting makes him feel jolly.

Pic 2 My daughter chose ‘Canned Heat’ largely for one reason, because it is pink 🩷 (we are very much still in that phase). She said it makes the room brighter, that it makes the world brighter.

Pic 3 Vincent (husband) chose ‘Speak like a child’ because he loves the uplift in colour, the big spaces in it, the emotion it brought in me as it reminded me of my Mama around Mother’s Day this year (happy tears).

All available this week at our Open Studio! I’m in RED 290 (right by the door at the top of the first stairs). Opens Thursday 14 May 2-9pm Friday 15th thru Sunday 17th 11am - 6pm
